Mellberg Set For Arsenal Return

Martin O'Neill has said Olof Mellberg should be fit and raring to go in time for our match against Arsenal.

Speaking on the official site, O'Neill revealed that Physio Alan Smith stayed with him whilst the team travelled to Reading in the hope they could work past his twisted ankle in time, but it wasn't to be.

'He turned his ankle over in training. Alan Smith (physio) stayed back to treat him at 8am yesterday morning again just to see if there was a chance of him getting back.

'But we don't think it's unbelievably serious in the sense that it won't keep him out for weeks on end. I think he'll be OK in three or four days.'

It would be nice for Mellberg to make it back and score another goal against Arsenal wouldn't it. Be an appropriate send off for him before he leaves for sunnier climes in the summer.

Leave Gardner in is what I say!
KSarge1
If it aint broke don't try and fix it . Gardner is doing OK at RB , as good as if not better than Ollie anyway. Keep up the good work Craig .
HolteEnder43
Gardener is better going forward but Melly is better defensively. Personally I think we need his defensive capabilities against the Arse, they are a very different proposition to Reading.

It'll be good to get Olof back into the frame. We've got him until the summer, lets make sure we utilise him. Straight back into the starting line-up at The Emirates please Mr O'Neill.

Not too sure though that Olof will get many look ins between now and seasons end, unless of course injuries or suspensions dictate.
