Harewood Pushing For A Start

Marlon Harewood is looking for more than a supersub role and says he will fight to gain a starting place in the team.

The former West Ham man told the official site:

'We want to be up there with the top-four or top-six and my job is to go out there and play my part - whether that's off the bench or starting games. We've got another massive game at Reading tomorrow and hopefully I can play a part again. That's what I'm here for. I want to play my part and obviously I'd rather not been known as 'super-sub' or anything like that. I want to start the games, but I don't make the choices. Martin picks the team and wherever he puts me, I'll be happy to be part of it.'

He also says although it is tough when you aren't playing, he has enough experience now to 'take it as it comes'.

I love his attitude. Come on Marlon!

I'd like to see him start at The Emirates, alongside JC, with Gabby pushed out wide. Not sure that the Arsenal would fancy a confrontation with JC and MH just a few short days before they head out to Milan. Otherwise I still think Marlon will have to wait his time for a starting spot. As of right now, I cant see how he can replace either JC or Gabby. As an impact sub, I have no problem, but I'm not convinced that he should be starting ahead of others right now. Agree with vb, his attitude is commendable, but its more than attitude that we need right now.

Took his goal superbly well at Reading. If Henry had finished like that, the media would have been drooling all week long.
