New Villa Flag Announced

Villa fans have spoken and the flag that will be paraded before games in the Holte End is option 2:

Marketing Executive Dan Meredith told www.avfc.co.uk: 'A staggering 95 per cent of fans who completed the survey insisted they wanted a giant flag on a matchday. We now hope fans are looking forward to raising the banner proudly. Villa Park match atmospheres have been fantastic this season and this should really help to ensure an inspirational backdrop for each kick off.'

The flag will alternate between the upper and lower holte end.

Looks good to me, certainly a relief they didn't go for option four:

Although this one might have been funnier!!

Option 5 would've got my vote any day of the week. 2 was the obvious choice, I'm just glad we didn't go for 3, far too pompous for my liking.

NO! Give it to the stiffs in the side stands and make them enjoy themselves.

It would get the opposition worried before a game or in some cases, Bloose, Spuz might make them excited ;-D

Lets hope the club does this properly. It is no good just having a 'big' flag, the likes of which are seen at grounds all over the country. It has to be almost the size of the Upper or Lower tier of the Holte. It has to be bigger (much much bigger) and better than anything any other club has. Imagine how that would look if it was being opened up on one side of the stand and it never fully opened until it had practically reached the other side!!!! The PR and TV coverage alone will be worth its weight in gold. Galatasaray have one the whole length of a stand (not width of a pitch) and it is awesome.

We had a large flag the once, passed around in The Holte End the night of a UEFA Cup tie (a game we won 3-2 against totally crap opposition after being 2-0 down - we then beat them 3-0 away - their name escapes me for now). Good idea me thinks. Worth a shot anyhow.
