Carew - Man Of The Match v Magpies

Vital Villa asked for your man of the match vote for Villa's 4-1 win over Newcastle United.

The winner, which comes as no surprise (unless you only saw him play in the first half) is The Hulk John Carew with 48% of the votes.

Next up super sub Marlon Harewood with 27%.

That left:

Nigel Hokey-Cokey (7%)
Scott Carson (5%)
Wilfred Bouma (4%)
Shaun Maloney (4%)
Craig Gardner (1%)
Stiliyan Petrov (cough cough) (1%)
Curtis Davies (1%)
Ashley Young (1%)
Gareth Barry (1%)

And a site you won't see very often, Martin Laursen (0%)

Wow, 0 percent for the Great Dane, shocking.

Got to be JC. Take a bow Big Man. Ably assisted of course by the rejuvenated and on fire Marlon H.

I didnt think Laursen had much to do to be honest be unfair to award him anything which is great a testament to our attacking prowess and Newcastle inability to kick a ball

i voted for Marlon. Changed the game . No offence to JC but his 2nd was just pin-ball and the 3rd a penalty he didn't win. Marlon made the difference to Villa's style of play in the 2nd Half. I was one of the many who slated the signing of him, but fair play, hat off etc great attitude both on and off the pitch.

You say Big JC didn't win the penalty?! Well he was the closest Villa player to the ball at the time and it was JC who Carr was attempting to move the ball away from with his hand. I'd say his presence certainly helped win the penalty. Having said that Marlon was superb.

I'd like to award an 'honorable mention' to our Captain Marvel, GB. Great generosity and team-building in asking JC to take that pen. Good for the team, good for the club, good for the fans.

Hear! Hear! BobTheBuilder, an extremely valid comment.
