Villa LISTEN & HEAR Concerns

General Charles Krulak has assured fans that the club HAVE heard the concerns voiced about the proposed move by the Premier League to increase the fixtures to enable a match to be played abroad.

The Villa director said on his thread in our forum: (Forum Link - Click Here)

'BELIEVE ME, I hear you all. I have communicated your concerns directly to Randy and he hears you too. He is NOT some money-grubbing foreigner. He, like me, loves England and loves English Football.'

'My sense is that every owner in the Premiership is hearing from their fans. In the case of Villa, your owner is hearing sooner because I am on this site. Randy is NOT going to support something that hurts English Football in general and Aston Villa in particular.'

Adding, 'Part of 'exploring' is exactly what is happening right now...and it is hugely helpful to someone like Randy. We have heard you and I am sure the Premiership has heard you too. Trust us to do the right thing.'

You can't get quicker or more direct feedback from the club than that really can you? How times have changed.

He's just saying what he needs to say. Really even if Randy/The General try there's no way they could stop this alone. We need to strike.
PTP
Just one club opposed to this could jepordise the entire proposal.....Aston Villa could be our life line!!
Rocky7
Surely they knew how the fans would react before they , said yes to further investegating the proposals? He's just telling us what we want to hear as usual !
Villan57
Like Rocky says, if one club pull out, the whole deal collapses.
Boro 01
Yeah PTP, if one club votes against the proposal, i can't see how it could happen, so there is a reasonable chance they could stop it on their own.

Villan57, what is there to be gained by not agreeing to listen to proposals. Indeed, GK hasn't said the club will reject said proposal, merely that they'll do what is right for Aston Villa, but to reject it before they even no what it is wouldn't make sense.

Sorry guys but I don't think the one club pulls out thing will work. What we should do is point out if the winter "break" is bought in to allow this, then we will all travel!! Imagine Blues, Villa, Chelsea and West ham in Miami for a weekend, absolute bloody chaos that will do little to enhance the "product" image abroad. Even if the fighting is confined to the usual nutters, local derbies are heavily policed and that won't happen in Bangkok or Seoul. This is a chance to sell teeshirts in the far east they won't want a bunch of real fans turning up hooligans or not and spoiling it. Once someone explains to the moneygrubbers that cheap flights all over the world are easy to come by this will go with all the other get rich quick schemes in the bin where it belongs!!

Not sure it will ever happen the clubs would need the support and blessing of FIFA and Blatter will not allow clubs to outshine International Football. If FIFA refuse which I am sure they will then my guess is that there would be a prolonged legal battle which may go on for some time. As with most things it will end up with some sort of compromise. Still good to see the ownwers want to listen its a bit different from the Small Heath Porn merchant who couldn't wait to start. Perhaps because he can't see his team being in the prem for long.

its a bit like the european super league - that we were all against a few years back - but it got introduced via the backdoor - the champions league - which ripped the heart out of the european cup. I suspect the same will happen - it will make a league out of pre season friendlies - perhaps ?
graydon
I suspect it will come down to money at the end of the day.

Good that we have an owner/board prepared to listen to, and consult with the fans, but even so, Col's right when he says that at the end of the day its the money involved that will do the talking. Interesting that UEFA are not keen on the idea.

Scudamore tells us that all twenty premiership clubs are up for the idea, so presumably as a club we must be supporting the plan?
