The Footie Fans Prawn Awards

The Footie Fans Prawn Awards

Saw this in our forum and thought it worth a laugh putting it on the front page.

Loaded magazine did a poll on football fans called the 'Prawn Awards'

The results:

Worst Home Fans – Bolton Wanderers
Worst Away Fans – Fulham
Worst Songs – Everton
Most Corporate Fans – Arsenal
Biggest Away-day Disappointment – Manchester United
Biggest Egos – Tottenham Hotspur
Biggest Whingers – Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Andrew Woods, Loaded deputy editor, is quoted in the Daily Mail today saying:

“We're fed up with watching silent 'big matches' in full stadiums, where the tinkling of bone china in hospitality is only drowned out by the piggy laughs of the suits. When I was growing up you could only see live games on the TV four or five times a year, so going to a live match was the whole point. Now it's on every night of the week and we find ourselves saturated with half-hearted football and the real fans have moved from the club to the couch.”

So who do you think are the best, worst etc. Local rivalry excluded. Oh, and keep it at least half nice for the love of Paul McGrath!

Agree with all of them except i would have Pompy as worst songs just for that stupid play up pompy song and the guy with the bell !!!......biggest away day dissapointment is definately Man U, their ground is nowhere near as impressive as you would imagine, St James is a far more impressive venue i think

Agreed about the Emirates, better than Wembley IMO but not been to Geordie land.

The only club I know really well in terms of songs are Villa and we are probably no worse or no better than others - but our variety of songs is pretty rubbish as far as I am concerned. We were good once and we do have great away suoport and good volume at the moment but the songs that get going loud ancd clear are a few of the same with little invention. I went to Barnet v Morecambe on Saturday before the Fulham game and the variety of songs (from the standing terraces- no surprise there) was wide, humorous and original. I can think of numerous Villa songs we once had that were our songs, now we just sing the same as everyone else. Yippee aye aye being a proud exception. Bring back standing onthe Holte and we will become good again as well as loud!!

I think our friend Willa sums it up perfectly. I'll go with his small time Small Heath selections.
