Fulham v Villa - Predictions

We've temporarily lost our match preview man, although I'm sure murph will be returning soon.

Meanwhile, I'm too lazy to start doing them again - you see the dedication?!?

What has surprised me is that Mark Lawrenson hasn't tipped us to win, we have been tipped by him so many times this season and then we come to a game I think we SHOULD win and he says 1-1.

Adding on the BBC site: 'When you look at the players available to Fulham, you have to think that they are not good enough to stay in the premier League. They need three or four wins on the spin and I cannot see that happening.'

Adding, 'Villa seem to take giant steps forward and then have a little setback and I feel that they are maybe a couple of players short of being a very good team.'

Certainly can't help but carry on thinking 'if only' with the transfer window, Jermain Defoe yesterday for example looked on hot form and my old favourite Milan Baros didn't look too shabby either. HOWEVER, having consulted with Mystic Mug, he says 2-0 to the Villa.

You're not going to argue with Mystic Mug now are you?

Ashley Young misses today's game due to suspension for five yellow cards. Wayne Routledge could go straight into the team and John Carew is fit despite rumours earlier in the week that he had picked up an injury in training.

Aston Villa: Carson, Taylor, Mellberg, Laursen, Davies, Knight, Bouma, Routledge, Gardner, Petrov, Hokey-Cokey, Barry, Berger, Osbourne, Agbonlahor, Carew, Harewood, Moore, Salifou, Maloney (Or is he still injured?).

Heart says 2-0 Villa, head says 1-1 as we always seem to draw against Fulham and neve seem to capitalise when results go our way.

Just coming to the end of the first half. Bit disappointing, but Shaun Maloney is ******** awesome. Going after everything, and a fair bit of skill to go along with it too.
Carlosio
Just typical that Gabby would be injured in the first game after the window. Hope it's not serious, but I also hope we now don't get months of "why didn't we sign someone"
Carlosio
********* fair play to Fulham but we are stuffed if Young gets injured, We are not very inventive. Just a dodgy spell Villa are going through, should bounce back they always do
krisvilla
also the transfer window might bite MON on the arse, davies went off injured, gabby hamstring..... jus thought i'd say it before someone else does (sorry carlosio)
krisvilla
Yeah MON thinks, oh look we are in 5th place after half the season has passed, surely we can ride our luck on injuries... Oh well maybe it will give Moore a second chance.
Villa 4 Ever
Maloney was the only Villa player to come out of that with any credit.
DeanoVilla
Feared the worst, as I indicated on the forum last week, but if the result gives us a much needed kick up the backside, then all will not have been in vain.

Talking to a Chelsea fan in the pub pre-game, he boldly predicted that if we played against Fulham as we did against his lot, we'd win 6-0. Should have known that would be the kiss of death!
