Four Villans Remain In England Squad

Villa have seen their England numbers cut by one as Curtis Davies hasn't been named in the final squad of 23 for the friendly v Switzerland.

On loan Liverpool keeper Scott Carson, Villa captain Gareth Barry, striker Gabby Agbonlahor and midfield maestro Ashley Young are all still in the squad for Wednesday's game.

Fabio Capello said: 'I want to be clear that the players who have not made the squad this time are still part of my plans. We will be monitoring the form of everyone very closely as we work towards the competitive matches which start in September.'

Anyone thyink Gabby will be starting? Capello has only picked 4 strikers

Surely owen and crouch can't start. Owen has been in dreadful form, and crouch never plays. I hope he goes 4-3-3, agbonlahor and young either side of judas.

I read that he was starting with Gabby & Owen up front. Not sure how accurate that report was though. Great news that we still have 4 involved.

Not sure how anyone can know who will start, but it'd be nice to see Gabby get a game. In all probability though I bet the old firm, Owen and Rooney, will get the nod. Oh well, Gabby's time will come.

Good having a new broom hopefully sweeping completely clean. I dont think that Don Fabio will favour the old guard on mere reputation alone, and that has to be good for our national team. There will be no favourites, exactly as it should be.

dont think that owen will get a look in Deano. he just hasn't done enough to convince the new man at the helm surely? He's another player whose been living on past reputation.
