Boateng: Oops!

It now appears that Kevin-Prince Boateng is not leaving Spurs for Villa in this transfer window.

Following bemusement from the Spurs press office when quizzed, Sky Sports have now removed the story linking the midfielder to the club.

We should all hang our heads in shame, for expecting O'Neill to have the foresight to make accute signings, and should prepare ourselves for Wayne Routledge!

You're getting to be quite the cynic lately murph. A terrible thing for one so young.
Thank god for that!
A shame, because Boateng's rubbish... Speaking of course from the perspective of a spurs fan. What a disappointment KP is. We spent a fair few quid on the boy, but he sems unable to do anything but the hum drum. I read an article by a German journalist who couldn't believe we paid so much for him, and that Hertha Berlin almost bit our arms off when we offered the cash. I had hoped MON would re-coup our fee for the dud...
Great to see all of the copy cat web sites report the same dud story!!
lol couldnt care less, u can have them both, no charge! neither player is good enough for spurs or villa so cant see it benefeiting villa at all. routledge is ok but aaron lennon ruined his career at spurs because he is better than him and boateng has had plenty of chances to prove himself in the spurs midfield and has failed at almost every attempt. boateng has looked sharper and more interested in recent weeks tho, so maybe he's changing his outlook on the game, but i doubt it. Great news on Hutton tho. excellent signing along with woodgate, gilberto and gunter, we actually have more than 3 defenders fit! cant believe it!
Grat news hope it applies to Routledge as well
Bring in the Clowns. I used to think times under Doug where hilarious, especially around transfer windows. But now, still we are 5th
Murph, you are really starting to bore me with you sarcasm. It's just not funny.
Villain Of The North
So this is Villa's fault is it? Not Sky? Let's just tag on world poverty and teenage pregnancy as well shall we.
Why stop there lets blame them for starting the war in Iraq.
Hoss The Villain
CLVilla, world poverty maybe, but surely not teenage pregnancy, that is down to the footballers themselves!!!!!!!!!
The Fear
Good luck to Villa and Wayne Routledge - MON is the man to bring out the form that Wayne is capable of. A great lad, a great prospect that never had a real chance at Spurs simply becasue the surprise rise of Aaron Lennon scuppered his chances of making the break through - Wish him well, good signing fro Mr "Shrewd" O'Neil - Oh and BTW KPB would have also been a really good signing for Villa, great prospect, needs discipline and eventually will be a good solid player, bags of talent!
Too harsh - KPB still very young and probably would have been eased into the first team a little more gently if it hadn't been for injuries, suspensions, and others being dropped!!!
I dont think he would have been bad - with squad numbers as they are I think anyone with two legs and two arms should be recruited if at all possible.
So has anyone any ideas where the stories surfaced from,Talk Sport mentioned it before I went into a meeting in Chatham at 2.00pm (Hawksbee was delighted!!!)_ and by the time a I came out of the meeting at 4.00pm no mention at all. Very strange. Wasn't KPB voted best young player in germany last season? A player that MoN may have been able to develop further in time?
Wasn't he linked with Pompey in the same sort of circumstances a few weeks ago... just before they signed Diarrhoea?
Hoss The Villain
We have been linked to at least 6 Spuz players in the past month. The bad feeling between the clubs which is mainly down to us being where they had dreamed of being (5th place) is creating these rubbish stories which were no doubt started by them. They seem to be trying to undermining us by suggesting that we are after their castoffs. Can we start some rumours that they are after Djemba X2 or similar. Damn I hate those jealous shadow crawlers.
villan444 what are you on about? first thing the season isn't over yet and you havn't finished in 5th. secondly the likes of dafoe would walk in your team cos you ain't got the best strike force in the world have you. and how can we be jealous of somthing we've had for the last 2years?? come on pal your having a laugh
Think it's really daft the number of Spurs fans that say that Boateng has not shone in the games he has played... whatever happened to giving players time to adapt??? I, for one, am glad that the stories linking Boateng to you lot are false. He is young and will become a star. Routledge, I'm sorry to see leave. If he was allowed to alternate games with Lennon then we would have seen what he could bring to the Spurs party. Hope he goes on to prove the rest of the Spurs "fans" wrong with his displays for Villa.
Then again... after reading the guff from Villan444, I hope he becomes an expensive flop!
Agreed Nath that the last 2 years were good but before that there was nothing to shout about. We have had Spuz fans on here ever since we reached 8th and they have talked about nothing else than how good they are and where they should be in the league. I never used to have a problem but it is beyond a joke now and deluded fans ( with the exception of a few) have made me dislike your team more than the bloose and Manure. And now to be linked with all your players from Robinson, Defoe, Tainio, Chimbonda, Routledge and now Boateng (sure I missed a couple) when we have had few other links is too much. Used to be a respected team by all but nowadays (most) Spuz fans just talk rubbish which noone else agrees with.
Surprise surprise anther plastic cock...erneeeeee on here to spout how great the spuds are. they make me laugh they think the world gives a flying f*** about them or the Capital. Living, working and supporting a London club is a cse of the emperors new clothes.
about Boteng some of the spud fans on vital spuds think its still on?
Thank god we didn't buy that guy. We should allow him to stay at Spurs and develop into the kind of player that Spurs fans will turn into a legend, like sicknote anderton, Fatcoigne etc
It is still on according to the Daily Mail site but only if spurs sign some midfielder from Spain.
Regarding Routledge, sorry lads no offence but I cant understand why you pay 1.25M for a bench warmer and then only give him an 18 months contract. He aint PL quality as you will soon find out. One of our more embarassing mistakes when we bought him from Palace.
Poor Routledge never got a decent run in the 1st, gotta feel sorry for the young lad, must have been pure Hell, as for KPB i agree 100% with Othello on him....i think he will be that steel in the mid that we require in future years to come, he has aggression and quiet a good touch, just think he is struggling to adapt from the German league, but i think one day he will be as influential as Keano for the Mancs and (i cant even say it without spitting) Viera for the scum sucking knob jockies
Give it a break '48. Enough is enough already. Yes, we're well aware that the club being fifth in the premiership means sweet f.a. to you, that you get no pleasure from seeing the club in such a promising position, after all, why let a success story ruin your attempts to undermine MON and the club at any and every opportunity. You really are getting old man.
firstly I think you have a real bargain in Routledge, who has had terrible luck at spurs, I believe he has never felt part of the team. getting a longterm injury on tour debut and then getting shipped out on loan for 18 mths is hardly the best of starts to a career. I believe that he needs a welcoming arm around him and In O'Neil you have the best one for that in the business. make the boy feel loved and he will come good and be an absolute bargain. regarding KPB, I was really disapointed with reports saying he was leaving, He is a player who spurs fans have'nt given a chance to show what he can do, he has made about seven starts never alongside the same partner and probably infront of a different CB pair as well. He had no pre season due to injury and only started playing in october. I have felt he needed a good next preseason and regain his full fitness and by this time should be used to the pace and physical nature of the english game. spurs fans have really not taken to him, because the majority of then saw him as a saviour only to find out he wasnt as good as they expected. who's fault is that? this time last season our fans were claiming steed malbranque was a flop and a waste of money, only for the same fans to claim he is our most consistant performer this season.
oxfordspur, we know fully where you're coming from. Our lot are quick to write off new arrivals, only to be singing their praises a couple of miles along the road. Good to know that we're not alone.
