Majority Say Start With Harewood!

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by evoflash,

Should Marlon Harewood get a starting place for a few games?

Looks like the majority, 58%, think it is time to rest Gabby and give Marlon a go.

28% wanted Marlon to come on as a sub more regularly at the end of games for the last 30 mins or so.

10% wanted to see John Carew rested and 4% voted 'drop Gabby or the Hulk? Are you mad?'

Our latest poll is asking for your prediction for today's game and tonight we'll put up the man of the match vote.

As long as he plays with Big John to hold the ball he will be OK. He isn't a player who keeps the ball so with any of the others we will struggle to keep the ball in the opponents half. Deserves his chance for me but Gabby should play some part today.

We should've started with Harewood today instead of Petrov. He was woeful today. What did he contribute? This on a day we could have gone 4th. Gabby of the right. Ashley on the left. Marlon and Big JC up front. Disappointed with today. I enjoyed the game but an opportunity missed.

Would agree generally, we didn't do enough to win, Barry looked unfit, Petrov is a waste of a shirt and NRC showed that he is very limited, net result no creativity in the middle of the park! At least second half we fed Ash a bit more and applied some pressure when the Hare came on. Having said all that Mr Webb wasn't what you would call a homer, harsh penalty, couple of nasty looking challenges from Blackburn unpunished, so we had to beat him as well.

I suspect that we'll see more of Marlon throughout the second half of the season. All credit to him, his attitude has been spot on, and he deserves an opportunity for that alone. Once again, he looked a threat today when introduced, but as a team, we were way below par, and didn't do anywhere near enough to achieve a victory.

Actually, give him his due, he's looked a very decent leader of the line on recent appearances. He's worth giving an extended opportunity to.
