Reading away - MOVED

In good faith 2,000 Villa fans bought tickets for this game, moving workdays, booking train fares and planning a weekend away.

Oh no! A few weeks before the game it is moved to Sunday at 12.30pm - what
a great time to play footy... and even though match tickets will be refunded - what about train fares, lost holiday. Yet again someone will benefit but it is the fans at the bottom of the food chain who won't.

The official site have given info on how to obtain a refund if you have bought tickets for the game:

Head of consumer sales Nicola Keye said: "We were informed about the move today (Friday) and we've immediately put a refund policy in place for any fans who have bought tickets and club travel but now can't go."

Supporters with enquiries should visit the ticket office in person or phone the following number: 0800 612 0970

a few weeks is perfectly adequate notice. While ideally for fans it wouldn't be moved it seems the club have been fair about it. Sorry that it's frustrating though.

Sky must love u supermansfoot, my mate just phoned the club who will refund the ticket and as they are oversubscribed sell it again - no loss to them, but as trains are not 'Official travel' won't refund that - i take it you weren't going anyway so you can now see it on the tv at no loss of dosh - perfectly adequate notice for you to polish your armchair!

Annoying, frustrating, but these fixture changes are so common place nowadays, you barely give it a second thought. Its a slap in the face again to the supporter prepared to get off his backside and travel to support the lads, and a victory for the couch potato follower, but things aint gonna change, so we might as well just accept it, and get used to it.

Supermans foot i know what i'd like him to do with that! What happens to the fans that actually enjoy going to away days on a saturday as this is when they believe football should actually be played. I brought four train tickets to Reading on the day the tickets went on sale nearly two weeks ago, these tickets are non refundable so thanks to the club & sky, me and my friends are now out of pocket. So Supermans foot i'm with you and your way of thinking. Bring on the Kryptonite. I would once again like to thank the club for being reasonable and congratulate them on helping buy me four train tickets which are completely useless. what a man.

Glensider with that atitude they won't - Emily Pankhurst, Ghandi, Churchill, Krulak they never gave in! No wonder nobody believes in Superheroes any more if Supermans foot has given into Corporate Britain! Why bother with fixture lists anymore lets just check the sky planner!

Second game I've bought a ticket for since christmas thats been moved, can't get to either! Can't understand why people are suggesting this is no big deal, it's a big deal if you want to go to a game rather than sit and watch it on the telly! Perhaps if all live games were pay per view, charged at the same rate as the average ticket price plus 15 as a premium for not having to get off your arse, then games wouldn't be moved around because the armchair supporters would refuse to pay a fair rate to watch!

Kinvilla you can be Chancellor and Waldorf - Minister for great ideas! Thing is i can't see why they have done it - can't see thousands rushing to watch it, it is an awful time for home and away fans and there aren't that many games in a season so why did they have to wait until 3 weeks before and tickets had been sold. We have all lost cash on train tickets unless Reading has become a mecca for shopping and we all take a day trip. Anyway time to go to the pub and try and sell my train ticket to some unsuspecting punter who hasn't heard its been changed!!

It just seems to me to be unfair to blame the club and expect them to refund train tickets. While I think the club have a duty to to be respectful towards the fans and can understand frustration as I have been in similar situations myself I think this reaction is very over the top. Last time I bought a british train ticket I wanted to change (about 2 years ago) they wouldn't refund it but gladly changed the destination and date on them. See if they still do.

supermansfoot, i guess it may have been a while since you last came to England but the Great Western Railway is no longer the force it was and the Railway Children is a film not reality! Basically, we can have a day shopping in Reading or lose 25, you are right about the club having a duty to be respectful but i ain't feelin much of it at the moment.

This is all to much for me on a sunday morning, not only did i find out yesterday that superman has lost his foot, today that the railway children are not real. what next Mr Ben never actually went anywhere from his magic wardrobe or jamie's torch was not actually magic! Anyway i hear electrical products are really cheap in Korea so Mr Supermans foot how about making up for your pointless comments and sending me a Nintendo Wii

Moan, moan, moan. Villa getting picked for live games is good for the club as more people will see the games and the wonderful football being played by us, not to mention the extra income. I can understand the frustration at games not being at the traditional 3pm on a saturday but we got the Blackburn game back yesterday so they are trying but you can't please all the people all of the time.
