Laursen Gratetful For Support

Laursen Gratetful For Support

Speaking on the official site, the rock solid centre half promised that 'Your support really does help!'

Laursen has always known what Villa fans are like, especially the support he received personally whilst out injured, but he is both pleased and surprised by the Villa faithful now the club is flying.

'The support has been unbelievable this season at Villa Park - and terrific on the road too. Fans are singing and doing everything they can to help us.

'Hopefully we can continue to play well and they can come and enjoy the football. I promise them - their support helps!

'It is a very interesting game. There's a great atmosphere at Villa Park at the moment - during the week and on a matchday.

'We managed a good win against Reading and followed that up with a top result against Liverpool.

'We go fourth if we win - that's a fantastic incentive for us all.

'We played well at Blackburn earlier this season so we hope to do that again.

'It has no bearing on this new match. We can't think it's going to be comfortable just because we beat them earlier this season.'

Blackburn will be out for revenge, and it's unlikely that Gareth Barry will be back in the frame, but we have nothing to fear from Blackburn, and if we can put in the performance we know we are capable of then fingers crossed, fourth place it is!

No doubts that the atmosphere inside of Villa Park on match-days is the best that its been in years, and that has to be a big boost to the players. Another 40,000 gate tomorrow? Certainly ought to be.
