'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Villa Confidence Is Not A Problem

Ashley Young has said that at half time against Liverpool, the team still had a positive feeling about the outcome.

He also thinks we should be very proud of the result and forget about the ending to the game.

Speaking on the official site, our flying winger said:

'It was a good result against Liverpool. We went in at half-time and there was a real feeling that the game was still there to be won. We came out in the second half and looked like we could sneak the win but unfortunately they scored right at the end.

'To go to a place like Anfield and pick up a point is a great result and just shows how far this team has come this season.

'We've got to be happy with a draw - in spite of the ending to the game. Immediately after the goal, we were a little bit disappointed but we certainly won't dwell on it.'

Ashley Young was also full of praise for forgotten man Marlon Harewood who came on and made an instant and immediate impact in this game.

'Marlon has looked impressive in training and always gives his all. He did brilliantly when he came on and it showed how much the goal meant to him when he celebrated.'

We should take a lot of heart from the Liverpool match, some will say we should've taken all three, others will be amazed we took a point, either way the battling spirit we now show stands us in good stead against any opponent and we've shown on our day we can match or beat anyone.

Now for some consistency and signings and we will be laughing for the rest of the season!

You certainly cant fault this impressive squad that MON is building, for any failure to give their all and keep on fighting. Many times this season we've dug deep and increased our points tally through our never say die attitude.

it is alwyas good to her confident players talking out
ozanne park rangers
Let's face it - 2 months ago many were raving about how well Sven had done at City, and it showed what a good Manager with money to back could do in a short space of time. We are now ahead/level with them and yet these same people are not here saying how well MoN has done. We have spent less money, have a smaller squad yet are doing better than a Manager some would have preferred.
