Buy A Piece Of Villa History

The auction has been postponed due to unforseen circumstances. We'll let you know when it is finally put live......

Aston Villa are holding an auction of the old signage taken down off the stadium to make way for the new branding. There is a wide variety of crests and lettering and it’s the ideal opportunity for fans to own a piece of Villa history. All items come with a certificate of authenticity and where available a photo of where they were in situ.

Marketing Executive Dan Meredith said:

“Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Aston Villa’s heritage when authentic pieces of memorabilia go under the online hammer. Villa’s former signage, including impressive letters and crests, are going up for auction today on eBay for a 10 day period. The bidding starts tomorrow (Wednesday 23rd January) at 12 noon and continues through to 12 noon on Saturday February 2. Highlights of the auction include two beautiful large 3D acrylic crests from the Directors Entrance and a lovely set of chrome letters spelling out Aston Villa Football Club.'

Adding, 'All items would make perfect additions to a games room or sports club. There are 47 separate items going under the hammer and they all have no starting or reserve price. Items are collection from Villa Park, Birmingham ONLY.'

And in even better news 'All proceeds go to Acorns Children’s Hospital and the Villa Park William McGregor Statue Fund”

Hopefully we'll put up the link to the auction tomorrow. All sounds a great idea to me. I can imagine my neighbours joy when I put up some signage outside my place!

Should be interesting, looking forward to seeing what is on offer and how much. Just got to remember not to start bidding as i get carried away on ebay!!!!!!!!!
The Fear
Great to see the club give the opportunity to fans/collectors to buy a bit of the clubs heritage and then put the money towards the William McGregor Statue Fund and a very viable and local cause that is the Acorns. Not only are they giving the supporters of the club something back, they are doing what they can to help local services and charities. Randy and his merry men can do no wrong!!...

Maybe if they hung them at the sty they would get a few more through the doors....

Wait 'til they sell off those magical words, 'The Doug Ellis Stand'. What an event that will be.

Read the story above Ozanne you plonker. Your sale of old trophies (if you have any) would be better suited to a car boot sale.

Did this auction ever go ahead? Never read nor heard anymore about it.
