Villa Linked To Real Madrid Striker

Blimey, thought the papers would be full of untrue gossip today with the transfer window supposedly in full flow for all clubs, however I can only see one link to Villa.

According to the bastion of all footballing knowledge, The News Of The World, Villa and Manchester City are lining up bids for Real Madrid striker Julio Baptista.

The 26-year-old Brazilian has some experience of the Premiership having played on loan for Arsenal last season (from August 2006) Although he didn't do enough to impress Arsenal enough to take him permanently, he did put four passed Liverpool at Anfield. He was mostly used in cup competitions.

Apparently the player nicknamed 'The Beast' that he can play in midfield or up front. The fee being bandied about is around £5million.

Unfortunately anyone from a top club is going to have a wage bill that we can't match. Paper talk is basically, Club with money and small squad + player who isn't playing 90 mins a week and has a greedy agent = MAJOR STORY (General Krulak's cousin.)

julio baptista has been spotted eating a bag of potatoes in aston leisure centre!!!!!!!! he then visited the council where he is rumoured to have declared interest in a council flat near Villa Park! 100% true!

Yes he would young_jonah, sadly though I dont believe a word of it. Looks like we may well go into February without any additions to the squad.
