Jermain Defoe Happy At Spurs

Jermain Defoe Happy At Spurs

It appears that Jermain Defoe has put to bed the rumours linking him with an imminent move to Aston Villa, Portsmouth or Newcastle United.

He told Five Live today, after Spurs 2-0 win over Sunderland, that he is happy and wants to stay at White Hart Lane. Apparently (as I didn't hear the interview) he is also looking at a new two year deal for Tottenham.

Defoe started the game today and I believe was captain. However he was brought off on 74 mins being replaced by Robbie Keane who scored his 100th goal for Spurs in the 90th minute.

Oh well, next rumour please............!

awww bless heres lily(tampax)white again, Talking endless drivel about how great spuds are lol. If life is so great being a spuds fan what you doing on here??? You really want to be a Villa fan dont you! just admit it boy you want to support a club with prospects. because your season will be over when the Gooners knock you out of the league cup this week. But you ca climb aboard the Villa bus to success, e wont mock you!!!!

Anyway back to the real point of Defoe.I personally didn't think he would sign, he either shows a total lack of ambition or he is extremely dettermined to succeed at the spuds only time will tell!! MON will find the right players of that i am sure. We are in a very delicate possition at pressent, we cant attract top players because we're not offering european football and we need players better than the type fighting religation. so the pool of players from which we can choose is smaller and requires a far more selective approach. We need players that will improve our quality squad not journeymen who we know will just sit in the reserves and play the odd game here and there when a player is injured. We need players who can put pressure on the first team, who know when tey get there chance they will grab it with both hands. Just like Davies has. So all the Villa faithful need to be patient and trust MON and his judgement, and not get frustrated with agents leaking stories to news papers in order to get a better deal for there clients. A small amount of common sense is required.
20/01/2008 12:33:00
Rumours that he was at the training ground and having meetings with MON may have been true but he was never going to leave a place where all the fans are as deluded as himself. I am well pleased. He has no hunger and passion etc. and is content to sit on benches so we don't want him. If he was seriously captain, I can't think of a worse choice (other than Milan Baros when we had him) so the management must have been caught up in the Euphoria and talking out of the backside which is so common around WHL. Hopefully this will be the last link to any more Spuz players atleast until the summer.
