Jermain Defoe Happy At Spurs

It appears that Jermain Defoe has put to bed the rumours linking him with an imminent move to Aston Villa, Portsmouth or Newcastle United.

He told Five Live today, after Spurs 2-0 win over Sunderland, that he is happy and wants to stay at White Hart Lane. Apparently (as I didn't hear the interview) he is also looking at a new two year deal for Tottenham.

Defoe started the game today and I believe was captain. However he was brought off on 74 mins being replaced by Robbie Keane who scored his 100th goal for Spurs in the 90th minute.

Oh well, next rumour please............!

Anyway back to the real point of Defoe.I personally didn't think he would sign, he either shows a total lack of ambition or he is extremely dettermined to succeed at the spuds only time will tell!! MON will find the right players of that i am sure. We are in a very delicate possition at pressent, we cant attract top players because we're not offering european football and we need players better than the type fighting religation. so the pool of players from which we can choose is smaller and requires a far more selective approach. We need players that will improve our quality squad not journeymen who we know will just sit in the reserves and play the odd game here and there when a player is injured. We need players who can put pressure on the first team, who know when tey get there chance they will grab it with both hands. Just like Davies has. So all the Villa faithful need to be patient and trust MON and his judgement, and not get frustrated with agents leaking stories to news papers in order to get a better deal for there clients. A small amount of common sense is required.

Rumours that he was at the training ground and having meetings with MON may have been true but he was never going to leave a place where all the fans are as deluded as himself. I am well pleased. He has no hunger and passion etc. and is content to sit on benches so we don't want him. If he was seriously captain, I can't think of a worse choice (other than Milan Baros when we had him) so the management must have been caught up in the Euphoria and talking out of the backside which is so common around WHL. Hopefully this will be the last link to any more Spuz players atleast until the summer.

Gappy...bit hipocritical? We have ambitions too you know..and great young talent. Two fifth placed finishes and great runs in the cups for us, whereas you have a good hald season and think youre all that? Alright, we have been ***** this season, but things are picking up with Ramos. And the stuff about "coming on an Aston Villa site", you do know that this story is directly linked to SPurs newsnow? Im not starting an argument, but dont you think its a bit early to be giving it all that? Oh and "Lily (white) tampax" <-- bit of a kiddy joke really.

Think NOW he has finally made his mind up again! Let him stay at Spuds forever. He is wasting so much time concentrate on someone that doesn't want to hear about how great he is and how much everyone wants him.

Dazspurs your right it was a bit of a kiddy joke. But it was still funny!!!! What do you spurs fans expect, you come on here spouting the nonesense about how good and better spurs are than just about everyone else. its time you realised how deluded you really are. A reality chip is required for all spurs fans. You might be a big club in your very own small minds. Whats it like being the %th biggest club in the Capital behind QPR LOL. Or are you behind Dagemham tooLOL .........

ahhh lily(tampax)white's here again!! you really cant help yourself can you!!! are you really that stupid? that you can come on here telling us how big and great spuds are and how small and insignificant we are? when we get bigger crowds than you we've won more trophies than you and oh yeah we've took 4 points off you this season. and my dads bigger than yours now go back to the spuds site and convince all the other plastic cockerneeees how big and great you are.... good luck against the gooners reserves.. lol

Defoe will move on, despite his comments to the contrary. His career is standing still right now, he's not wanted in that Ramos has told him he can go, so common sense tells us he has to look elsewhere.

Cant see why he'd be happy at WHL. His international career is surely a no-go while he remains there?
