'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Villa Owe The Fans

We all know that football in general is seriously overpriced - that doesn't stop us though.

Martin O'Neill accepts this fact and says it's down to the club and players to pay us back by winning matches, playing attractive, attacking and free flowing football.

I can't fault a single thing he says on the official site in relation to this, but I do however apologise it's another non story and not a transfer story - but you can't blame me for that!

'It's very important that we try to entertain the supporters, people pay a lot of money to go and watch football games in this day and age.

'It is great to win matches and it is massively important to make the football we produce enjoyable.

'You just want to. We have some really exciting players in our side who are in great form at the moment.

'Our benchmarks at the moment are Arsenal and Manchester United.

'Arsenal have combined a glorious team with a winning mentality. Manchester United have got stronger as the season has gone on and they are playing some really great stuff. They are very strong at the back too.

'They are the top entertainers. But at least we are up there and considered to be exciting. That's encouraging.

'We are trying to score goals and there seems to be a general appreciation of our play.'

There's also a general appreciation of our standing in the league, I know a lot of fans thought we might sneak Europe this season, but that was sneak. We may not maintain this lofty position until the end of the season, but it's been a hell of a ride getting here!

Is football over-priced though? Compared to other entertainment outlets, I dont think it is personally.
