Laursen Signs New Deal?

I am assuming that the club have extended the contract of Martin Laursen or are very close to doing so as our very own General Krulak has just said on the forum:

'Laursen is with us!'

A few words but words that could mean a great deal.

If this is the case, it will surely be the best bit of business we will do this transfer window?

Denis_B - Are Fitzergerald's words coming back to haunt you???! Like all signings, once he signs on that dotted line, we'll start breathing a little easier.

I think you only have to see Laursen in the famous claret and blue shirt to see he is with us. He's loving every second. Why would he not sign? These are new and exciting times. Have Faith. UTV.

the only way he would leave us is if one of the world's elite clubs came in for him - but they wont because of his age and injury history

We await with baited the breath the official announcement from the club. Still concerns me somewhat that we left it so long to confront this issue head on, but if Martin signs the new deal, then our tardiness will be overlooked.

It's now 20 hours later and no official announcement, so we can assume that it isn't signed, sealed and delivered. But it could well be agreed in principal, just awaiting his final paw print. As Adam said, I can't see why the deal wouldn't be agreed because it favours both parties.

today was supposed to be the meeting and also after the United game which never happened! It's still very quiet. If it's not announced today I think we may of lost him.

I didnt see his comment as him saying Laursen had signed a new deal, more like he wants to sign and is commited to the club? Who knows, im sure we'll find out when General K is back online.....
