Jermain Defoe Link Hots Up

Jermain Defoe Link Hots Up

Rumours are abound that Jermain Defoe's girlfriend has been viewing properties in the Stratford Upon Avon district of Worcestershire. If true then surely that shows that the Spurs striker could well be on his way to Villa Park? I must add this is only a rumour, as mentioned on our rumour thread but you never know. Another there says that the deal is all but done bar the shouting and personal terms being agreed. Again, really not sure about that, and especially now it appears there is a hold up over a dispute between Defoe and his agent.

According to today's Express and Star, there is an argument between the agent he is contracted to (Skye Andrew) and the agency Defoe says he is with (SEN)

The paper say 'The dispute is believed to centre around a difference of opinion between the player and agent on Defoe’s future.' and claim that no one else can negotiate on the players behalf until 2009.

Villa have refused to comment on reports that we have bid £7million for him.

Defoe, what do you reckon? Given the chances I think he could be lethal for us and surely he has a massive point to prove if he does move? Especially as we have a new England boss who he will want to impress and he can't do that on the Spurs bench can he? He could help fire into Europe, remember we are only 3 points off 4th place, if we bring in 3-4 quality players, who knows what could happen?!?

I thought Defoe said he wanted to stay at Spurs. I think he's a good player but why would he swap the Spurs bench for the Villa bench. He can live anoutstanding life style and be lazy down there. There must be someone who wants to play for Villa like Reo Coker did as soon as there was an interest.

As Stratford is in Warwickshire and not Worcestershire this must be a joke (or Mrs Defoe is truly dim. Hmmm, now I mention it ...)

As a Stratford resident all my life. I can't remember our move to Worcestershire. Whoever wrote this needs to buy a map. Anyway Defoe wouldn't spend his time on the Villa bench. He'd actually play. You see Villa play there good players who actually want to play. So come to Stratford, it's a great place to live. We've already got a wealth of actors in the area and footballers in the area. UTV

My only reservation is that he plays at the expense of Gabby. And then what happens to Maloney,Marlon and Luke?

Is that picture showing the goal he scored against us? Why would you use that? Is it to show his capability of scoring at Villa Park.

I get the feeling that no Right Winger will be coming and Gabbi will be pushed out there. Not too bad an option if you ask me!

ksarge1 - i have to agree with you. Imagine a four man attack comprising of carew, defoe, young and gabby??? And Chimbonda pushing up the right into midfield with barry and coker.

don't get too excited about JD lads - remember he's going out with that racist donut Danielle Lloyd. She was probably lost trying to find the Essex mansion......COYS

Defoe would be a tremendous signing for us. The difference I believe between finishing top six as opposed to being one of the also rans again.
