Nigel Hokey-Cokey has said that Villa can repeat his exploits of last season when West Ham did the double over Manchester United. He says that Villa are capable of progressing in the FA Cup this afternoon and 62% of Vital Villans agree as our poll results show. That left 34% predicting we'll 'lose, it is traditional' and 4% saying we'll draw.
The Villa midfielder told avfc.co.uk how much he was looking forward to the game (5:15 kick off, tickets still available, or at least there were earlier)
'It should be a fantastic atmosphere. It's the magic of the cup that is special and I've been lucky to play in an FA Cup final with West Ham. And I was privileged to be the youngest player to captain a side in the FA Cup final.'
Adding, 'Any team is beatable. It depends how you apply yourself. I am a firm believer that it doesn't matter who my opponent is, as long as I do my job to the best of my ability and compete, then anything is possible. It is 11 against 11 and it's about who wants it more. Who has the right mental attitude and who wants to run that extra yard to win the game?'
'West Ham were one of the only teams to do the double over Manchester United and Arsenal in the same consecutive season - and I was delighted to score the winner over United at Upton Park. I think every team is beatable. You just need that 'no fear' attitude [that's not very nice is it?] and to work hard to make sure you get the right result. I believe in football, and in life, you get what you deserve! If you work hard and apply yourself, you'll get your rewards.'
COME ON YOU VILLA BOYS.
