Agbonlahor Salutes The Holte End

Gabby was not only pleased with a much needed home win against Spurs yesterday, but he was delighted with the ever faithful singing fans for staying behind the team, especially once Spurs equilised.

Speaking on the official site, Gabby said:

'We almost threw it away at the end, but we got that second goal.

'It was a big result because they looked really strong after coming from behind.'

It wasn't the best performance ever, but there were plenty of moments of excitement and on another day Moore could've had a hattrick, and we could've scored 5-6.

Oh well we can thank the fantastic Mellberg and Laursen for these three points!

'We're sixth now and if we carry on playing the way we are, then we can definitely get into Europe.

'It was really important to win at home again. Looking at our results, we've done well away.

'We started off the season doing really well at home, so if we can try to improve our home form, we'll start pushing up the table.'

Commenting on our loud and loyal support, he said:

'The crowd were great, especially the Holte End - you could hear them right through the game.'

So those of you in the Holte End, give yourselves a pat on the back. Those of you like a certain Mr Fear in other parts of the ground, pull your socks up and start belting it out! :-)

i was in the north stand upper (can't afford to go to many matches and this is the cheapest place to sit), and it was silent. i felt like keeping my voice down when i spoke to my girlfriend in case i disturbed the peace. thought the ground was pretty quiet all-round. it was only when the second goal went in that it got loud.

There was a fairly constant murmur of songs in the Holte throughout the game. It was interesting (and pleasing) to note that there were considerably fewer people joining in for anti Blues songs than songs which support the Claret and Blue. Apart from near the end after Laursen scored when everyone joined in a chorus of "Birmingham are you listening". Nothing wrong with that. It just annoys me (and I know many others) when all you hear all game is anti Blues songs. UTV Bring on Man Ure.

Oh yea nearly forgot. and the Holte end salutes you gabby.

I thought it was fairly quiet in comparison to some games recently. However it can be hard to motivate yourself when playing one of the smaller clubs in the lower reaches of the table. I think the late kick off following on from the New Year celebrations didn't help either.

Chris The Villan I don't have a major problem with anti Blues songs but there was a time (admittedly when we had a dog awful team) when all you would hear was anti Bloose songs. I'd prefer to hear the Holte concentrate on supporting our own rather than slag off a two bit nonentity of a club from down the road. Up The Villa! S**t on the city!! :)

Agree with imavillan, in that the switching of away fans from behind the goal to the corner on the side has helped improve the overall VP atmosphere and volume of noise. Gabby is the type of individual who will always have the supporters on their feet and making noise, he generates enthusiasm throughout the stadium with his exciting runs.

One loud anti sum song each half is enough for me, I'm a my old man fan me self.
