Villa Warning - Beware Of John Carew

Olof Mellberg says that The Hulk, John Carew, is now a major threat and on top form.

The Villa defender, who has recently pledged the rest of the season - if not his future to Villa - told the official site:

'He's really on top of his game at the moment.'

And on his goalscoring performance against Manchester City he added, 'John Carew did really well for us. He had a couple of chances, and he's always a handful with his size. He's quick too but he can hold the ball up well for us. He's done well for us all season. It was a special performance, but I think we've seen that over the last few weeks as well because he has played well. He's a handful in training and when he's on top of his game, he's difficult for anyone to handle.'

'He's a top, top striker when he's in that form. He's very difficult to play against because of his size, but you don't want to give him too much space either because he's really quick.'

He adds that the key for Big JC is to now stay fit so he can build on his current form.

It is good to finally be seeing why John Carew came with such a massive reputation, hopefully he is now fit, bang on form and will help shoot Villa into Europe.

A handful for any defence that he comes up against. Another good showing at Stamford Bridge.

He looks a lot fitter of late, well capable of lasting the full ninety minutes of a game.
