Marlon Harewood Linked Out Of Villa?

According to The News of the World Middlesbrough boss and former Villa defender Gareth Southgate is looking to sign Marlon Harewood on loan to 'boost Boro's chances of beating the drop'.

On loan? Surely as it is Christmas we can show some charity and give him to them permanently? Maybe we could all have a whip round for the taxi fair as well?

Sorry, that is spiteful, but lets face it, we all were hoping the summer transfer window would bring in a slightly bigger name striker than the former West Ham striker and preferably one that would be played once bought?

You can only assume that Harewood would jump at the chance of moving to gain first team football, something that he has only very rarely glimpsed since coming to Villa Park.

I think that unfortunately, this is just wishfull thinking but if everyone wrote to Santa and asked the same thing then you never know, there may still be time.

murph would be gutted mind you, he loves Marlon! I must admit I feel sorry for players who come to clubs and then don't get a look in, this one is especially strange though, even when John Carew was injured Marlon didn't get a chance.
The Fear
Its when - not if he leaves villa. To this day I don't understand why he was purchased. Never good enough - I don't see how 'padding' the squad with inferior quality players helps.

We cant afford to let him go right now, surely? Certainly not without a couple of signings to compensate for his and Luke's possible exits. Get some new faces in, then maybe talk about out-goings.
glensider
Agreed with Glensider. If Moore is to go which i really hope he doesn't because i think if he put a 100% in everything he does then i think he is a great player, but if he going then maybe a swap deal for Anelka plus 8-10m or something.... Got to be tempting for Bolton, Moore would get first team football and Bolton will also be getting hard cash to spend....Anelka could fire us into Europe easily and would pay for himself.
Villa 4 Ever
It's a shame it never worked out for him with you. I don't think he'll get a game at Boro either with Mido, Aliadiere and Tuncay there, personally I think he'd be best suited and get a haul of goals at somewhere like Charlton, Watford etc

Hasn't Luke signed an extension to his contract? I can't see our fortunes being changed one bit whether Harewood stays or goes - so let him go asap is my opinion.

Absolutely no sense in sending him out on loan, its not like he's a kid in need of experience! Just bite the bullet and sell him for a million

Steve Gibson is such a fan of Villa's players I am surprised he never put a bid in for the club and bought them all on one foul swoop. Harewood would not be a loss IMHO but dont let him out on loan without INISTING he definatly has to play against us in any future matches. I suspect Sorrenson will also be Vilabor'o bound.

********* to loaning players out – let's be concerned with who comes in! When does any club worry about our affairs??

Goomba, Super Mario Bros anyone?
