Will Capello Give Young His Chance?

Speaking to a reporter from IC Brum, Young has said that he will forver be grateful to Steve McClaren for giving him the chance to join the squad and take part in the friendly against Austria and but now he hopes he is able to impress Capello and become a regular.

'I'll always be grateful to Steve McClaren for selecting me. I'd played for the Under-21s and he saw enough to put me in the senior squad.

'Then he gave me my first cap. I think everybody expects England to qualify for major tournaments. I suppose that's why Steve went. But that's the thing in football - things move on and as a player you just have to deal with that.

'I wasn't on the pitch for the Croatia game, but that doesn't mean the defeat didn't hurt.

'We felt we were good enough to qualify for the European Championships. Now I have to impress a new man - Capello, but so does everybody else.

'Hopefully I'm young enough to get more opportunities, but for some of the players I suppose time is running out and that's what makes it so frustrating.

'I have to concentrate on my Villa form. That's what got me into the England squad in the first place and I'll never take that for granted.'

Looked pretty good against Sunderland our best threat probably, Anyway i reckon if he keeps his head down at Villa and gives 110% every time he is on the pitch then I'm sure he WILL break into the first team and be a Legend for Club and Country.
Villa 4 Ever
Few things. 1) MON not going to England. Good for us I hope, not so good for England 2) An Italian in charge of England. A disgrace. 3) The money he is on - a disgrace. 4) The FA still in charge of the game after McClaren - a disgrace 5) My tea from Sainsbury - a disgrace.
The Fear
He's definately got what it takes, the right attitude and bags of ability. Lets just hope he keeps his feet on the ground, and that Capello doesn't just favour the so called big four and the London clubs! The good thing is, Young is one of the best young talents around, so Capello will be building for the 2010 World cup. I can see it now, Davis, Young, Gabby and Barry...
Nigel-not-Reo
6) Steve Bennett (a disgrace) ;-)

He was your best player today always looked a threat and could solve the left wing problem
Lucas
I think Capello will be his own man and go with the tried and trusted who have let us down in the past - last chance saloon perhaps! Then if that fails, I reckon youth will get it's chance in the build up to 2010 World Cup!

If Villa do well he'll get a look in. Handy having a large contigent of English down the Villa as Capello will come down and have a look. Gabby should be encouraged as well to achieve higher things and Barry has been indifferent since playing for England so he's got it all to prove.
Gazvilla
I think with our Ash, that its not a question as to whether he'll become an England regular under Don Fabio, rather, when. Another outstanding performance at The Stadium Of Light yesterday showed that he's now adding consistency to his game. He still has lots to learn, still has to develop more, but there's no doubt he's a talent in the making.

Be interesting to know just how 'up to date' Don fabio is with the premier league in general, and its English contingent in particular.
