Definately puzzled by that result but couldn't think of anybody who really stood out. Gabby did ok but was taken down whenever he got past his man and Carew did his job but didn't get any support.

Thought Bouma was by far and away our best player before he was subbed. I bet he was gutted to be taken off having played so well.

So, all you need to do to get man of the match is run round like a headless chicken and foul anybody that comes within 10 yards of you? Interesting.

I sometimes wonder if i go to the same games as everyone else. From where I sat (Facing the wrong way?) he got stuck in , saved two breakaways and generally held the middle together. There again I could have been at West Brom.

It never ceases to amaze me how we all see a game differently. I'm with Stig ... I thought Okey Cokey looked off the pace. He played best towards the end when he was near enough playing at Centre Half! He irritated me going forwards ... mainly cos he didn't ... it was always sidewards.

I think the Pompey fans have been voting on this one because he didn't play well at all. At fault for the third goal and generally ineffectual. I didn't think anyone stood out but must agree with deanovilla that Bouma must have been gutted as he had been better than most of the players out there in claret and blue.

Trouble is with Bouma a) his mistake gave Pompey a goal headstart + although I think he is solid usually defensively, his distribution going forward can be awful.

Jonah, you've made my day, as there might well be hope for me yet. I can do a great headless chicken performance, the running bit is awkward though.

Gordonsleftboot is right about saving two breakaways, if you watch those they were two sure goals and you have to ask why NRC was able to get back but the defenders were nowhere to be seen. Trouble is he gives away an awful lot of silly free kicks giving the opposition possession. There is a good player there though, his performances in the summer for the U21's were amongst the best in the tournament.

The Fear

I have only seen the highlights but the Korean pundits reckon Reo was a class above everyone. Mind you one of them is a former blue nose! (If you were wondering I didn't vote)

Fear, he got back to save those two goals because everyone else was up for corners and he was left guarding the nest. Still had to get back to tackle though and I think some of the other comments on here are a bit harsh towards him.

Gordon, he can tackle no question but he needs someone 2 yards away to pass to otherwise it is a lottery as to where the ball goes when it leaves his foot and he makes Beckham look like a world class dribbler when he tries to run with it.

These MOM votes are always hit and miss, rarely a very fair and sensible result is achieved.

Coker's role on corners is to cover counter-attacks. He "saved" one of the breakaways because he got beat by over-committing and then had to track back. He was badly at fault for the third goal. I love his aggression and energy, but his distribution and positioning is very poor at times. He wasn't the worst player on the pitch (Laursen in my opinion), but definitely not the best..... Bouma, Carew, Gabby or Barry had better games...

NRC has been a huge disappointment since day one. There may be a decent footballer in there somewhere, but we sure haven't seen anything yet to suggest he will be an asset to the team that MON is putting together.
