Villa Players Incoming In January?

Martin O'Neill has suggested we'll be getting new arrivals in January as he hopes to soon have a squad big enough to cope with the rigours of the Premiership.

He explained 'We are probably at the stage of our development where we are not able to stand three or four players going out of the side. Luckily, touch wood, that hasn't happened so far but we have eight games to negotiate between now and the new year which is a big ask for us but it is up to us. We will, in the not too distant future, be able to cope with the loss of big players - and I know the players who I would be particularly interested in bringing in.

He also says he hopes that Villa can push on for Europe this season with some crunch games on the horizon:

'We are in the middle of a very important period for us of three successive away games. It is a tough period with Middlesbrough and Blackburn away in the space of four days before we are at home again to Arsenal. This will be a big test for us especially as we have to travel to Middlesbrough on the back of the international fortnight.

No doubt in a week or so I'll add the January transfer window rumour article to the top of the site, in the meantime, the Daily Mail claim we are after Peter Crouch and John Arne Riise from Liverpool, Jermain Defoe from Tottenham (who lets face it is linked every transfer window and if not him, Robbie Keane!) and the link to Porto right-back Jose Boswinga has also re-surfaced. I'll also throw in a link to Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka, why not, everyone else makes them up!!??

I dont know about incoming transfers at Villa Pk but i will say that as for outgoing transfers Garath Barry has blown his dream move to WHL in January with that shambolic performance on wednesday night. You can keep Scott "butter fingers" Carson as well......LOL
chalky76
Oh yeah I would love to swop them for Robinson and Huddlestone Chalky!!!! Add in Defensive English Rock Dawson, prolific Bent and I never get a game Defoe while your at it.

We've heard it all before, so excuse me if I dont hold my breath. When they are signed, sealed and delivered, then I'll start believing.

Id love to see Crouch, but I think Citeh will get him.Dica? Alfonso Alves possibly scout the Russian league some class players out there.
Pking
8.5m for Carson, already paid 1.75m, 10m Crouch, get rid of Harewood, If Maloney wants to go let him and then bring in Either Defoe or Anelka, I reckon Riise could be worth a shot if he isnt over 7m and maybe Hoyte if we can tempt him after signing some high profile players.. What do i really think ??? We'll sign some load of crap and sell some players too and at the end of the season we'll hear him moan about our squad was too small that is why we didn't get into Europe :/ Sorry just thought i would glance into my crystal ball.
Villa 4 Ever
Well, Villa 4 Ever, all I can say is what miserable balls you've got! i'm still upbeat that MON has come out and said he's staying... the best 'signing' we could possibly ask for!
Rawlie
And so the spinning wheel startes again. Can we please just have some signings this time?
Villain Of The North
A couple of right backs and a centre forward would see us good till the summer I reckon.
DeanoVilla
Rawlie, Don't get me wrong he is a good manager and he will get the job done at Villa, but if he keeps buying the Harewoods and Knights, and selling the Davis's and Ridgewell's then won't be going anyway fast. He need's to change his act in the transfer market and fast, IF he doesn't get a GOOD right back not a decent one, and IF he doesn't gets a GREAT striker like Crouch/Defoe/Anelka/ then we won't be heading for Europe. So far if he signed the loan players we have brought in i have figured he has spent about 51-53million, i know he is tight with his cash but that is stupid money for the players he has brought in.
Villa 4 Ever
We should be in a healthy league placing come January 1st, so that in itself, plus the MON factor should certainly help us bring in the type of quality that will see us become a serious contender for UEFA Cup football next season. Think positive.

Apparently, riise and bosingwa are dead certs. Not sure about Jose, but John Arne is supposedly around 3m. I'll take that, thanks very much. Otherwise, Anelka is a dream in my view, like sneijder in the summer. There is a slim chance, but if United want him, he'll go to united. Maybe someone'll listen and we will finally have defoe this time. Who knows. To mr chalky, yeah, that's how it was. Barry has been begging to go for years, it's not that he doesn't want to and you're just not villa. In my view, Spurs blew any chance they had of signing Barry when you were 14th in the table. Also, notable that its a 10 point lead, isn't it. just my two cents.

nice views chalky. come back here when you learn more about football. thanks. did it ever occur to you that barry was being stifled by lampard? McClaren insists on playing that muppet and as a result fools like you think gazbaz has a bad game. anyone with half a brain must surely realise lampard should not play for england, unless gerrard is unavailable. to think that barry would leave villa for a bottom half team like spurs is laughable. the rest of my rant goes to any fan who booed an england player yesterday. i enjoyed gerrard smashing one in to shut the geordies up almost as much as i enjoyed carson's 80 yard through ball assist for gabbys goal. seriously, its fans like that, that hold this country back sometimes. disgraceful.

Jimmy Milner from Newcastle. Ideal to solve our right flank problems.
