O'Neill Rules Himself Out Of England

Martin O'Neill has told a press conference that he is not interested in the England job because he has a job to complete at Villa.

So the press can bugger off with their speculation!!!!

He told the press: 'I know where the speculation has arisen from because I was involved in the interview process the last time. I was not a club manager at the time, and if that opportunity had arisen and I had been given that chance, that would have been a different matter. But I am here now and I'm committed to Aston Villa Football Club. This is what I want to do. '

Adding, 'I want to do this job. I've started it and I want to drive it forward. This is what I want to do. We're nowhere near completed at all. In fact, we're just starting and I want to complete this job.'

Here endeth the worry of manager merry-go-rounds.

England, go for Harry Redknapp !

Hopefully that will stop the press speculation, he can't be any clearer than that.

oh dear - im starting to worry that 'arry might get the job now! he 'wont' rule it out, so the more that do the more its 'sqeeky bum time'...

fear, you only want 'arry to go for as you think it'll give you more chance of beating us in a couple of weeks ;-)

Harry would be good, not too sure though as he cannot use any African imports in the England side!

Does it matter who gets the job - the FA will want to control him and the press will go against him. Steve Bruce, Frank Skinner, Alan Shearer, Stuart Pearce, Jasper Carrot or even Karen Brady - will it make any difference?

I thought Barwick had ruled out the next coach being english, although that doesn't rule Redknapp out, as he's a cockney!!

Good. well said Martin. Now lets get down to concentrating on the important stuff. Namely, beating Middlesbrough at The Riverside tomorrow.
