Unoial Villa News...

Martin O'Neill has complemented the Villa faithful saying 'They are coming out in big, big numbers at home to support. The away contingent is always fantastic. Last season in particular was splendid. We want to give our supporters something to cheer about this season.' All very positive and then you read in the paper that Martin O'Neill is jetting off to meet with Randy Lerner due to the international break. All makes sense until you realise the suggestion is he might be talking to Randy about the possible vacant England job. The General said in his forum thread: 'The week off will give MON and Randy some time together....which is always good. They get along very well which is good for Villa.' Doesn't sound quite like a manager looking for an exit does it? Full article: O'Neill for England

I wish everyone would stop putting pressure on young Gabby Agbonlahor! Last week we had Martin O'Neill saying that the Villa striker was like Stan Collymore at his best, now Zat Knight is quoted on the official site saying he is turning into our very own version of Didier Drogba or Wayne Rooney. Gabby has 5 Premiership goals so far this season, our next highest scorer is Martin Laursen with 3. That leaves a clutch of players on 1 each. Gareth Barry has been appointed as a Prince's Trust ambassador and Nigel Hokey-Cokey Villa's new Football Foundation ambassador. Full article on the official site: Click Here

The Holte has just introduced a brand new Pub Favourites buffet which is available on lunchtimes (12-4pm), Monday-Friday every week. We also have evening food from 5-9pm as well as deserts and bar snacks.

Olof Mellberg says Villa are winning, winning ugly - wonder if he has the Rolling Stones Dirty Work cd as well, good song that, I digress. The bearded wonder explained: 'Winning when you're not playing that well is definitely important. Last week against Derby we didn't play that well but we got the win. I still think we created the chances against Blues but overall we didn't play fantastically.

Looks like Villa might have got one step closer to securing the new England No 1 Scott Carson - well, he is set to start for England v Austria and surely has to do very little to impress in order to keep Paul Robinson of Spurs out, as he has never been the same since he left Neighbours in the 90's! According to reports today, Liverpool boss and master of rotation is willing to sell the keeper Villa took on loan last summer. Full article: Rafa 'Carson Can Join Villa'

Reports today suggest Steve McClaren is going to make a total joke of himself and drop Gareth Barry in favour of Frank Lampard and David Beckham for the England game v Austria.

Wrexham have appointed he who walks on water, Brian Little, as their new manager. The league two club have taken the former Aston Villa and Leicester City boss in a desperate bid to retain their league status. Good luck our Brian.

Some great images of the new signs around Villa Park, although I'm not sure what those dodgy geezers Russell and Dan are doing up the crane in picture five. I knew they worked hard but I thought they'd have staff to do the heavy work! Click Here

I hope he who walks on water can save the day for Wrexham. Strange how Brian has sunk down the divisions as he was a good manager for us.

Yes, very good luck to Mr Magic. Delighted that he's back in the game. He has way too much to offer to stay isolated.

Gabby hopbbling off for the under 21's at Milton Keynes was a concern. Hope its none too serious.
