Oh no, Mark Lawrenson, what have you done? After weeks of backing us to win (quite correctly along with Mystic Mug last week in the 2-0 v Derby) he has come out with a 1-1 v Blues on Sunday.

He told the BBC site: 'Another derby in a weekend of big games in the Premier League. Birmingham are back in the top flight and there will be some added intrigue, with Liam Ridgewell moving from Villa Park to St Andrews in the summer. I sometimes feel with these games the occasion takes over and football gets pushed out. I will go for a draw in a tense, nervy affair.'

Actually, difficult to argue with the sentiment, the feeling and passion is often not reflected in the game. Still, Mystic Mug
has polished his ball well and good and is going for a 1-0 Villa scoreline.

Up step Bulgarian international Stiliyan Petrov according to 45%. Go on Stan, be a Villa hero and set yourself on the road to a more impressive contribution for the claret and blue's!

Next up was Ridgwell who polled 14% with a predicted own goal. A man who most likely won't even be on the bench, Mustapha Salifou, polled 13%. Blimey, what a baptism of fire he'd have if picked!

what's happened to Petrov? He was great at Celtic but he looks like he's struggling in the Prem. Any idea why?

ahem, good point villain of the north! Had to put win/win, can't contemplate a loss! Think Petrov has struggled to get up to the Prem speed Merlin. The SPL is a different kettle of fish and he has admitted that he cuuld cruise up there knowing the result apart from when they were playing Rangers.

Anything could happen, and probably will. Difficult game to call, they always are. Defeat right now is unthinkable, but we'd get over it, and before you know it we'd be turning our attention towards Middlesbrough and Blackburn. Just hope we turn up, compete, and give it all we've got. Do that and we'll be o.k.

Dead right Glen , you've hit the nail on the head. Many of our fams expect us to win every game, that's fine bt it sets us for disappointment. Away wins in the premiership areas rare as rocking horse poop this year.
