Maybe someone could explain to me why we need 3 left backs, and also how on earth Alan Smith gets into every England squad, as I am really quite baffled!

Cole, Bridge, Shorey plus Phil Neville, Lescott and Barry, that makes 6 players in the squad who can play at LB. At least Jenas doesn't get included anymore.

Young desrerves to start in the friendly. Joe Cole should be rested for the Croatia game. (Not that the result matters now anyway!)

fair play to your boys, gotta be said tho they are included becuase they deserve to be there. esp barry(even if he has kept lamps out) well done letshope it continues! but it'd be nice to see lamps and barry get a full game together see how that works

Doesn't matter how many left backs we have, unless Israel pull off a miracle, we are out!

Great to see Villa's youngsters recognised. Hopefully fire them up for Sunday! Am I being totally biased or shouldn't Gabby have been included in the Senior squad rather than Alan Smith? If not Gabby, then Theo Walcott should have been, but Alan Smith is, in my opinion, not good enough for International football.

Russia will put us out of our misery and then the absence of Terry and Rooney will mean sod all! McClaren out!

Good to see three Villans in what could very well be McClarens final England squad. Then it could be back to square one, with our lads having to impress a new man at the helm. Even if Israel do manage to avoid defeat against the Russians, I wouldn't be overly confident about our lot seeing off Croatia.

Barry is a must start in the CM postion. He has been England's best player in the last 4 games. Lampard, Gerrard, Hargreaves and Carrick are behind him in current form for England at this moment in time.

Barry becomes a semi-sort-of-regular, then England fail to qualify. You couldn't make it up!!!

I cannot believe that some of the so called experts (Keown and Lawrenson) on the box are saying that Hargreaves should replace Barry!! They said because we lost against Russia! I still thought he was one of Englands better players that day, that coming on the back of three man of the match performances for England.

Could not see McClaren dropping Barry from the squad but with Fat Frankie returning to form he may well start on the bench.

As always, hope our lads return fit and well to B6. There's still a lot to achieve this season.
