'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Villa Official Site Re-Launches

At last, after months of coding and no doubt loads of nightmares for those involved, the new official site has been launched:

www.avfc.co.uk

Looks quite nice, pretty fresh and bright and certainly an improvement on the old one which was really looking its age. I'm not too sure about the purple mind you, hopefully that will be changed to claret soon!

I must admit the content is the most important thing and having looked around many official sites over the last few years since setting up Vital Football, I have to say that the Villa site is one of the most active sites kept nicely up to date with player quotes and manager reactions.

So what do you think? Thumbs up or down?

Agreed about the purple, whats all that about?

Nice free AVTV bulletins but aside form that, new look, same old content.

AVFC Online - well it might be OK but IT IS NOT ONLINE

I think it looks really good, good content as well, it may effectively be the same but they are tied to the contract with premium TV at present and it is one of the best premium TV ones I have seen, if not the best.......I have just had a look through all of it and the player/coach peofiles look all the good, like the timeline as well, I imagine when people start sending in there own facts the timeline will be a very good factual addition. Like the free video looks good

I very much like the history section with the taped chats by the likes of Eric Houghton and Peter McParland and others. Yes, it's got a crisp new look as well and made to look apealing. A lot of it may be similar to what went before, but it's got that something that it didn't have before...

Don't ask me why, but after expecting the site in August, as initially promised, I expected more. Yes it looks a lot cleaner, but I hate the double add click through to get in and that is still there. Not a lot different is my initial reaction - where is the General Krulak page, or some original thought? Guess I'll have to stick with Vital Villa or a non-official view of all claret & blue! Sigh of relief Mr Fear?
Gordonsleftboot
sigh of relief indeed, although you could make it sound a bit more of a thrill to stay around Gordonsleftboot. I can't imagine using that quote in advertising literature....! 'Guess I'll have to stick with Vital Villa' not got quite the ring to it I'd have hoped! LOL ;o))
The Fear
Like the player profiles now. Got the moving pictures of the players like at Villa Park.

Fear - Vital Villa is irreplaceable - cannot be beaten and is the greatest web site for Villa fans - ever! (Any better?)

Has it got the Osbourne one? This I gotta see!
DeanoVilla
Yes has the Osbourne one. Only ones they haven't got is Maloney and O'Halloran. They should do this with staff and directors too! lol

I'm not a big user of the site for a variety of reasons, but at first glance it looks a definite improvement on what was a very user unfriendly mish-mash. Whether its the major improvement that we were all anticipating though is another matter.

Yes, I give it a thumbs up after more thoroughly checking it out. A definite improvement.
