Villa In Harmony

Villa in Harmony Day

Saturday is Villa in Harmony day, where we ask everyone connected with Aston Villa to support KICK IT OUT’s “One Game, One Community” national campaign of action. We will be celebrating the contribution made to the game by all communities, of all races, cultures and religious beliefs and are using the power of football to continue our stand against racism and discrimination.

A number of activities will happen on Saturday prior to the match, including:

· A display of pictures from local children that have participated in community activities with the club.

· Players warming up in KICK IT OUT t-shirts that will be thrown in to the crowd after warm up.

· The three flags of Villa in Harmony, KICK IT OUT & “One Game, One Community” paraded prior to the match.

· All staff will be asked to wear KICK IT OUT stickers / badges whilst on duty.

· HOLTE END LOWER tier supporters will be asked to raise cards during the Premier League handshake prior to the match spelling out the message “ONE GAME”. This will be broadcast around the world.

What a load of crap, let's kick out something that doesn't exist in the first place!

Kick what out? I'm confused. I agree Jonah don't see the point. Is it the rascism thing? if it is they should go to the spanish grounds because a lot of their fans are racist *****ers after that discraceful incident with Saun Wright Phillips with England. I don't here any racist chants in VP, not where i sit anyway.

Half of our team is black FFS. I can't remember the last time I heard any sort of racist comment at VP. These sort of 'initiatives' really ***** me off, looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

I can see where you're coming from Jonah, but isn't the point to publicly and loudly demonstrate support for the campaign?

BFR could hand out the badges and stickers during the warm up, but seriously it is all good PR for the club and gets us seen, if it leads to one extra voice on the terrace job done.

I dont want to appear the wet blanket here, but I have to admit to being firmly with Jonah on this one. Its not going to effect the enjoyment of me and mine, so let them get on with it by all means, but I have to question if its all really necessary. Isn't it highlighting a problem that isn't really there? Or is it, I dont know? Maybe be its just me, and my naive outlook on life and the world in general?

Cant believe for one minute that post game, after everyone has left the stadium, that anyone will give a moments thought to Villa in Harmony.
