Laursen Excited At Villa Future

Laursen Excited At Villa Future

Martin Laursen says he'd love to stay at Villa not only because of our history but also our future.

In an interview in the Birmingham Mail, he explained:

'This club could be playing in Europe in the next two years and I want to be part of it. Everyone wants to stay here and we all want success because we can all see this club is moving forward. It's got great potential. It's a great stadium and it's got a great history. It's the biggest club in the Midlands and a lot of fans come when we play well.'

And on Martin O'Neill 'We've also got a great manager. He's been very important to me. He's always been supportive to the extent where I've always been in the squad whenever I've been fit. He's always spoke highly of me both to me and to the media, so I have a lot of respect for him and a lot to thank him for.'

Laursen is out of contract in the summer but hopefully having proved his fitness, will soon be tied to a new deal.

Always uplifting to read and hear of players wanting to stay on Villa Park on the strength of believing that the good times are just around the corner. Sign on the dotted please Martin.

We seem to be taking our time in offering him a new deal. Same scenario with both Luke and Olof. Why?
