Villa Oldstars At Studley On Sunday

Charity event with the Villa Old Stars.

Info from the official site, put here to hopefully further promote the game which takes place on Sunday at Studley FC.

'Villa Park became the latest stopping-off point on a marathon trek for Lee O'Neill this week.

The Villa fan is visiting every single League ground in England and Wales as he pays tribute to son Lewis who tragically died last year.

Lee is also raising funds for Villa's adopted charity Acorns Children's Hospice and the Aston Villa Old Stars will give a helping hand in a fundraising game on Sunday.

The Old Stars and a team put together by Lee will compete for the Lewis O'Neill Charity Cup, which will be followed by a charity auction - with all funds raised going to Acorns.

Villa fan Lee told www.avfc.co.uk: 'We've got a lot of signed memorabilia, including a signed England shirt and a pair of Gabby Agbonlahor's boots. Lewis used to go to the Acorns over at Selly Oak and they're an amazing bunch or people. They just look after the most beautiful people and once you walk through the doors they really look after you. We used to spend a lot of time up there with Lewis and they've kept in touch. So once we organised this event, there was only one charity we wanted to raise funds for.'

'This is an event and a day where we're going to be remembering Lewis. But we want to raise money and awareness for Acorns. Like any other hospice, they're struggling. They need money and they need help and hopefully we can help.'

After Sunday's game, Lee will continue in his quest to visit all 92 League grounds.

Sunday's game is at Studley FC, Abbeyfields Drive, Studley and the action gets underway at 2.30pm.'
