Villa Fans Vote For Man Mountain!

Vital Villa asked for you man of the match vote for Villa v West Ham.

Once again Martin Laursen ran away with the votes with an impressive 55%.

Ashley Young was next up with 17% and Scott Carson followed on 9%

The other votes went to:

Gardner (7%)
Knight (4%)
Barry (2%)
Agbonlahor (2%)
Petrov (2%)
Hokey Cokey (1%)
Bouma (1%)

Mellberg, Moore and Maloney all missed out.

Gabby Agbonlahor said of Martin Laursen on avfc.com: 'He's a man-mountain who will head absolutely anything.' adding, 'I think Martin Laursen would head a stone if it was chucked up to him! He'll head anything. He's a man-mountain. In training, everyone keeps away from him. He's done really well. I didn't realise he was in the last year of his contract, but with the way he's playing, I'm sure the gaffer will speak to him. We'll have to see what happens.'

Our latest poll tackles the heady issue of whether you prefer the old Carling or new Carlsberg at Villa Park.

What a difference Laursen could have made last season if he only stayed fit, a quality player and nice to see someone giving Garreth Barry a run in the player of the match and player of the month awards. It can only be good for the club.

Hope Martin, and the rest of our lads heading off on international duty, all return to B6 safe and sound. Some tricky encounters ahead of us in the weeks ahead, and the last thing we need is to be missing key players.

If Martin Laursen isn't voted MOM, its Gareth Barry. Surely the other lads feel left out?
