Villa Fan Says Don't Boo Harewood

Obviously the last few days Marlon Harewood has been getting some quite hefty abuse. Abuse that alot of the time isn't warranted for instance saying the guy is lazy, I think he always looks up for it. He just isn't very good

THIS IS A PUBLIC APPEAL

PLEASE DO NOT BOO MARLON ON SATURDAY !!

Marlon will be getting on the pitch at some point, he may even start, whether you agree with this or not he will be in a VILLA shirt and should therefore get our support

Imagine if you went into your work where you are meant to be a valued employee and were booed as you walked in, your confidence would be shattered

TO BOO HIM IS TO MAKE HIM EVEN WORSE !!!

The guy is clearly lacking in confidence and only our support can get him out of it !!! rather then boo him, cheer him show him what fantastic support Villa have and will him to do well, this is the time he needs us most so DON'T get on his back !!!

AGAIN TO BOO HIM IS TO MAKE HIM WORSE !!

No Villa player should be booed when in the shirt on the pitch, totally agree, he has to be given support.
The Fear
I've never booed a Villa player and never would.
Hoss The Villain
I agree totally, may be he impress us :)
Majkee
NEVER boo any Villa player who gives his all. Marlon obviosly tries hard, perhaps too hard, and although I don't rate him I will always support him during the match. ( I might moan about him big time in the pub afterwards though)
krfeskivilla
Must admit, there was ONE Villa player I have boed during a match. Steve Bloody Hodge!
krfeskivilla
Agreed gentlemen, he shouldn't be booed but if we are going to talk about should and shouldn't, I have to state that the guy should not be wearing a Villa shirt. SIMPLE AS. He tries hard, I have no qualms with that but he needs to lose some bulk and that will improve his touch and his ability to get more than 2 inches of the ground when trying to jump. WHY did we BUY.
Villan444
There was one player I did boo......Eric Djemba Djembe (the player so aweful, they named him twice). I think he only ever played about half an hour of first team football, but I'd put him the the same class as Marlon Hairbrain. 4 million, I just can't believe it, 4 million......I mean 4 million!!!!
LondonVillan
He should not be anywhere near the pitch, then we couldnt boo him. I won't boo him, but I will ask what the **** he thought he was doing in the box, and why he just stood in the centre circle when everyone else was chasing round and trying to close down. I will always back a player wearing the shirt when on the pitch and never boo, however the right to question why he is in the team in the first place is ours to do.
rdunbar100
booing is for fairy ass gay boys.
Stig
lol you tell em stig, never boo the claret and blue
steff_the_villan
Totally agree, I was'nt pleased when we signed him and he was awful against the spuds. He will probably expect a slightly mixed reception therefore if we get behind him it may just do him the world of good. After all he is one of us and it aint gonna make him any worse than the other night. I will defo be roaring him and the lads on come saturday.
marcobavfc
ahem, Stig, I was going to say you don't beat around the bush but that would be wholly inappropriate.
VitalFootballAdmin
He was boo'd against Leicester and as I've aleady said on more than one occasion elsewhere on this site - It's a disgrace. Every player in the Claret and Blue should get our 100% backing while out on the pitch.
Adam Deuce
Any boos should be directed at the team as a whole, not a particular individual, and even then only in extreme circumstances, such as when they show no fight or will to win. When the team put in no effort then they deserve to be booed...ie Doncaster and first half at Wycombe. All of us, as individuals, make mistakes so it is hardly fair to boo an individual for making a mistake, even one as crazy as Marlon's on Monday! UTV SOTC

Repeat what evweryone else say As a fan you suporry you team not help the opposition It is quite fine though to qustion on a site like this Why he & while i am at it Curtis, were ever purchased in the 1st place I still cannot beleive we sold Liam for c2m & got in a similar 2nd division player for 8.5 I would scoff at paying 8m for a prem centre half let alone someone with an attitude like his handing in his armband refusing to play What a Joke
FatKev
I wonder if there's another set of supporters in the country who would ridicule one of their own, in the manner that MH has been subject to these past few days? Probably not. Yes, we're a breed apart alright.
glensider
boooo
sdler82
only, joking. He has my full support hes a good honest lad, cant boo a trier
sdler82
Do not agree with booing a player. Marlon would do himself a lot of good by saying sorry for being an idiot, and that he would hopefully learn from what happened cos we had the game in the bag. Also I hope he found time to say sorry to Martin Laursen, he was superb as always, and only deserved to win. I dont even want to imagine what he must have thought. However COME ON MARLON!! UTV.
morky13villa
Marlon screwed up big style on Monday night, he knows it, we all know it, and not just over the penalty. History now. Hope he gets a brace against west spam on saturday and we might start to forgive him. Maybe he is trying too hard, but we are complaining about lack of effort for long enough too. Prove us wrong, son and keep trying. With big John out we need you and should support you. Good luck. UTV.
Madirish
Personally, I've always believed that booing players whilst on the pitch (refs excepted) is as bad as using foul language. Offenders should be permanently excluded. imo But it won't happen.
villacross
glensider, don't think there is another team in the land that DOESN'T question some of their players. You should hear the Spurs boys when they talk about Ghaly and Gardner for instance.
The Fear
krfeskivilla, you beat me to it .Steve Hodge. Yep booed him. Would have booed Savo after his spitting incident up at Blackburn if I had been there. Thats it though.
AC
Won't boo him, i want every villa player to do well when they are on the pitch. but if he fecks up again the majority of the crowd will go balsitic, which is what i fear the most
*Holte*End*Star*
Wont boo him but wont cheer him either. He just isnt very good and MON should be questioned by Randy as to what the hell he was thinking when he signed him!
DeanoVilla
Imagine how much worse he would be if we booed him...
lukemarson
He needs to go out and prove himself against the hammers on Sat, maybe he might suprise us all and score but I doubt it some how.
whyvilla
i don't boo. i just curse. i must have said: Harewood is s*** at least a million times since Monday.
industrial_musical
I remember being at Villa Park when the "fans" started booing Kevin Gage during a poor run of form in the Venglos season. It was the worst thing I've ever witnessed at VP. Here was one of the hardest working players ever to pull on the shirt - definitely not particularly talented, but gave his all week in and week out. I walked out that day and was utterly disgusted, to the point that I changed my standing position on the Holte to avoid losing my rag with those morons again and being permanently removed..... NOW, I agree it was a clumsy challenge, but it seems many are blaming him for the result..... ridiculous! We conceded FOUR goals. Why isn't Martin Laursen being singled out for leaving Berbatov on the first goal, or Ashley Young for not tracking Chimbonda for the second, or any number of our defence for not clearing the ball properly on the fourth? Not only should he not be booed but we need a sense of reality here! Does anyone remember him getting the ball on the halfway line, beating two defenders down the line, holding it for about ten seconds while getting no support and still winning the throw? The fact that "he just stood in the centre circle when everyone else was chasing round and trying to close down" was probably due to coaching instructions for him to stay high up the pitch to be an outlet for cleared balls. Personally, I watched the game and didn't see him in this mode but I'll take your word for it.... I also thought he did more than "our Luke" on the night....
gmvillan
He needs goals, no doubt about it. To help his confidence and settling in at the club, and to get his detractors off his back, and help get the majority of the support on his side. He was a very strange signing, cost a ridiculous amount of money, but he's here now and we have no alternative other than to rely on him to provide cover etc.
