the best centre half at villa since mcgrath. the guy has absolutely no fear, that must give him a real psycological edge against forwards aswell. I would be *****ting bricks if he was marking me.

Have to agree, he wins virtually ever header going.

Personally I thought Gabi had a good game, and not just because of his goal. I think what is most interesting though is, in the 4 home games we have had this season, we were unable to win any of in the corresponding fixtures last season. People said if we could just convert the draws into victories then we would be challenging at the top end of the table. Well it seems that we are doing that. This season we have accumalated 10 points from games that yielded 7 points last season. Considering we lost at Spuds last season, then next Monday represents an opportunity to increase this comparitive return.

Always hustling and trying to get a foot in on the ball - makes strikers job that much harder when the defender isnt just trying to contain. The guy is immense and the best defender in the prem on his day - which is a bit bold but hes that good at times.

One of the most pleasing aspects of this season, so far, is that we are finding it much harder to pick our man of the match. The votes are becoming more spread, rather than it just being a question of voting for GB. UTV!

I suppose if it had to be anyone then Martin Laursen was always going to be the MOM frontrunner, but overall I think there were several solid showings, without anyone being particularly eye-catching. Good three points though, I was mighty pleased about the result.

A special award too for Phil Neville for keeping our two young bucks apart at the end. without his calming influence, that could have become nasty.
