Villa v Man Citeh Man Of The Match

Villa v Man Citeh Man Of The Match

Vital Villa asked for your man of the match votes in the 1-0 loss to Manchester City.

Only one winner really, step forward England midfielder Gareth Barry with 52%.

I'm surprised that Wilfred Bouma came second with 11% but then again, what do I know! ;-p

Others that registered a vote were:

Ashley Young (10%)
Scott Carson (10%)
Zat Knight (3%)
John Carew (3%)
Stiliyan Petrov (3%)
Shaun Maloney (2%)
Nigel Hokey-Cokey (2%)
Martin Laursen (2%)
Luke Moore (1%)
Gabby Agbonhalor (1%)

Our latest poll asks which striker is most likely to get near the 20-goal a season mark as suggested by Let the Revolution B

Sounds about right, though even Gareth had one of his quieter games.

Thank you Villa for this result. Earned me a nice ruby up Rusholme from me Villa supporting gal.... would have been two free beers but I predicted 2-0. Bit disappointed with the way we played but my God you deserve your Average Villa nickname.

Not getting carried away, reckon we will finish 7th-8th but betcha you finish below us unless you get a couple of half decent forwards.... and a continental coach?

Aston Smithy...you live in Aston and you don't support Villa? What's going on there? Anyway, fair play Baz was good, but he wasn't playing at a level anywhere near what he can, whereas Bouma was solid, and had a good link up with Ashley. I think he played close to his potential the other day, and that's why i gave him motm over Baz. I don't think we should reward Baz with what was a sub-par performance from him, even if he was the best player on the pitch.

Poor performance all round, a result that still hurts 48 hours after the no-show. Gareth at least looked up for it, but even he, as Jonah so rightly says, had one of his quieter games. It doesn't particularly concern me that we lost an away game, what concerns me was that we played poorly against a very average team, who quite frankly, were there for the taking.

Wrong. Knight should have got it.

Forgetting the MOM award for a moment, poor attendance wasn't it? Didn't even look as if there were the 38,000 in there that was announced as the official figure. I know the Sunday kick off time didn't help, but for a City home game, that was definitely on the low side.
