Reserves At Villa Park Tonight

The reserves play Derby County at Villa Park tonight at 7pm.

Curtis Davies could feature and Patrik Berger is expected to make a return for the reserves having recovered from a hamstring injury he picked up in pre-season.

He told the official site:

'I'm getting there now and hopefully I'll be ready for a reserve run-out. It's been very frustrating for me. At first we thought the injury would only keep me out for a short while, but it has gone on and on. The worst thing about it this has been that I did all the pre-season training, worked hard on my fitness and then suffered a setback. It was really bad timing.'

The Czech midfielder, who was given a one year extension to his contract also says there is a lot of football still to be played and all he wants to do is carry on from where he left off at the end of last season.

'I just want to get back into action. Last season ended so well for me and I want to get back into contention for the first-team.'

Can't wait to get Patrick back. We looked so much better with him in the side last season.
Adam Deuce
Agree with Adam Deuce. Forget the advancing years, he can still spray that ball around better than most in the premiership.

Patrick was apparantly awesome! Davies even scored!

We have a very young team at the moment, I think it needs levelling out with an experienced head like Berger to bring the best out of the players. The guy rarely puts a foot wrong and is now fit.
leelindsay
He didn't look 100% the other evening though leelindsay, far from it, although that of course is to be expected. Whether or not he's ready for a place on the first team bench right now is questionable, although it has to be said that he did display one or two moments of sheer class, that stood out like a beacon compared to much of what went on around him. He's still quality alright.
