Villa Legend Digs The Hokey Cokey

Not sure praise comes much higher than this! Our very own Ian Taylor has pinpointed Nigel Hokey-Cokey as a future Villa legend.

Ian told the official site 'I spoke to Nigel after the Chelsea game and he said it's a great club and he loves it here. He didn't realise how big a club it was until he got here. He also admitted they've set themselves high standards now and they've got to live up to those high standards. They've got to go and do it again week in and week out.'

And his qualities the former fans favourite said of NRC, 'He gives a real edge to the midfield. His battling qualities are second to none and I think the fans will really love him here. I think they've taken to him already and he's a good leader as well. He's a real leader out on the pitch and he's a voice. Hopefully he'll be a great asset to us for years to come.'

And on the Villa who he has supported since a kid he says: 'There's a fantastic buzz about the place. It's fantastic and it's carried on from the end of last season. Martin O'Neill and Randy Lerner have come in and I think they've done fantastically well - you could see the progress made in the win against Chelsea.'

And it will get even better after we beat Manchester City in their soul-less ground this afternoon!

I totally agree with you about NRC, imavillan, but I'm not sure we need to have a dig at Gav (who always gave 100% best for Villa) in order to big up NRC. Why be negative?

As for Gavin McCann, I thought that he did us well during his Villa Park time, turning in some impressive displays, and always giving 100% to the claret and blue cause. Accept that he wasn't everybody's cup of tea, but we were always a better team with him there in the mix.
