Young Voted MON's Best Signing

Young Voted MON's Best Signing

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Lions82,

Who is Villa's best signing under Martin O'Neill?

The winner, by some margin, was winger Ashley Young with 51% of the votes. No shock there then, this season he has come on leaps and bounds and looks like a real handful for any defence in the league.

Next up came summer arrival from West Ham Nigel Reo-Coker with 21%.

That left Stiliyan Petrov with 9% and the rest, (bearing in mind it is much too soon to judge really!) got:

Maloney (jan 07) (8%)
Carson (jul/aug 07) (4%)
Carew (jan 07) (3%)
Knight (jul/aug 07) (1%)
Davies (jul/aug 07) (1%)
Other (the small name signings) (1%)
Harewood (jul/aug 07) (1%)

We'll ask this again later in the season and compare results. Betcha can't wait!

Gardner did very well against Liverpool, attacking, flair players will always get the crowd on their feet.

No surprise in the poll result then, with our Ash a clear winner despite other impressive individual showings. How long will it be I wonder before we have to start worrying about our chances of keeping him at the club? A sobering thought really.
