IF Laursen won the man of the match award i certainly won the fan of the match! Yes - the guy deserved it like most games - he's knocking on Barry's door for that arm band!

Well deserved he played a blinder on Sunday

I think all of them played a blinder, with your new "road workers/stewards outfits on it was difficult not to be dazzled and squinty eyed.

definetly had to be Laursen. Him and Knight looked like they had played with each other for years and they probably only trained together twice!

Young was first class as well.

Heroes one and all. I'm not going to pick a MOM on this occasion.

Laursen and Knight, not many teams will win a header against these two, and it might finally mean we will be a threat on corners!

I wanna know who the 6% of fans who chose Petrov in the new poll are

Who voted for Carew? In all honesty I thought by his standards he was slow and lumbersome. Looks nowhere near match-fit if yiou compare this to his performances of last season. I'm a big fan of the guy, and I feel he cares about the club, but common-sense must surely have told him he didn't need to go to the flanks to receive the ball. This should have been Luke Moore's job. Whenever he did that it left nothing in the box. Also, what does Maloney have to do to get a game? I would liked to have seen him late-on on Sunday, although the jiob was already done! On the plus-side, I thought we were fantastic Sunday and was well worth getting stuck in traffic on the M6 for in both directions. I'm a season ticket holder who emigrated from South Brum to Merseyside 2 years ago. A lot of guys at my work - mainly 'Pool or Toffee fans actually commented on how impressed they were with Villa - which was refreshing as the normally don't give a hoot! Like Barry says - time to build on it! Up the Villa!

Laursen is in the top 5 CB in the premier league, he is absolute class and definately as good as Terry, Ferdinand, Vidic, Carragher and would problably start for any premiership team at the moment. If he stays fit this season and strikes a good partnership with Davies then we may be in for a surprisingly good season...fingers crossed UTV.
KSarge1
The key for Villa this season is scoring the first goal. Once a team goes behind and starts to push on, with our pace we could destroy teams on the break....especially the slower defenses - the hardest thing to defend against is pace.
KSarge1
another lucky win! you guys must be blessed :-)
merlin
Good point KSarge1. Playing on the break we have few equals, which bodes well surely for our away games this season. Famous last words maybe?
