England Should Have A New #1

Scott Carson has told the Guardian that he is realistic in the part he is likely to play for England in the upcoming qualifiers against Russia and Israel saying of the England goalkeeping coach 'I think Ray Clemence has more chance of starting a game than me.'

Carson knows he is behind Paul Robinson (quite why he is being used at the moment is beyond me) and David James.

'It should be good with England, but I think it will be mainly training for me. Ray Clemence has got more chance of starting a game than me at the moment. I've just got to train hard and try to push Paul Robinson and David James as hard as possible.'

A choice between Paul Robinson who appears to be eating too many pies and Calamity James (I actually like DJ!) then I'd go with Scott Carson! Good management is surely all about going for the man in form (and also in claret and blue obviously!)

It was on the advice of Ray Clemence that Carson decided to move on loan from Liverpool to Villa this summer so he can get regular first team football to push his England credentials.

Not too many to choose from.....oh for the days of Shilton, Clemence and Corrigan.

I would have Carson any day of the week on his form at the moment!! Mix that with Barry in the centre (No doubt it'll be Carrick though!!) and little Ashley on the left and Villa are starting to look good on the England front!! I just hope we pay the price for Carson at the end of the season as he's got to be worth the cash!!

Scott Carson has to be well worth serious consideration, after all neither Fat Clumsy Robbo or David James have covered themselves in glory when wearing the England shirt. His time though will surely come in the not too distant future. It has to.

Clown Shoes will pick Robbo and James ahead of Carson. it's not how could you play it's who you play for. WTF did the FA pick McClaren? It was McClaren that you would see taking down notes under Sven, and i bet it was McClaren who did most of the managing! Tosser, sack him, but they aint having MON

I still rate James very highly but surely Carson must be ahead of the useless Paul Robinson by now?
DeanoVilla
I haven't seen enough of Scot Carson yet to really give an opinion on his ability or credentials, but as Deano comments, even if he's not a starter ahead of the more experienced James, he should certainly be ahead of Robinson in the pecking order.

well he can't be any worse than Robinson and James :-)

Wont argue with you on that one merlin. But is he yet ready? I'm not so sure he is.
