'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Curtis Davies Gobsmacked

Curtis Davies has spoken of his 'delight' at joining Villa.

He told avfc.com:

'Aston Villa is a great club and I'm delighted to be here. I now want to repay the faith shown in me by Martin O'Neill with my performances on the pitch. You look at the squad and it's young and vibrant. We have several England under-21 internationals. Hopefully we can all improve together and be knocking on the door of the full squad. The most important thing, though, is pushing this great club forward, hopefully into the UEFA Cup this season.'

And on his new team mates he says 'The squad is incredibly strong and young which bodes well for the future. It's nice to have familiar faces to talk to rather than being the lad who sits in the corner with no friends.' (Oooh, is he talking about me?!)

He also says he was 'gobsmacked' when he was shown around the Bodymoor Heath training ground.

From what I can gather, Davies hasn't been arrested today or yesterday, so that is a bright start for the lad!

its weird you know... all the signings made by Sven at Man City are literally the decent players you buy on Footy Manager for fair money when they are young. And he said he'd never seen them play....

Big step up for Curtis, but my Baggie neighbour tells me he's the real deal, and when Jack (the neighbour) speaks, I listen. Especially when its something I wanna hear.

Yes, strange one Villan444, but seems as if it was at West Brom's request, and that the completion of the deal during summer 2008 is a mere formality. We have to believe what we're told I guess, but its still a transaction that right now is a little strange to say the least.
