Ash was head and shoulders above all others out there, on either side. What a highly talented player he is fast developing into. Makes the few out there who were so quick to write him off last season, look a little bit silly right now. Still has a way to go, must improve the final ball, but a bargain signing at the price we forked out for him.

It looks like the "prospect" who cost Villa nearly £10,000,000 is not bothered by his price tag and is getting the plaudits for a great start to his Aston Villa career.

Ash was by far the best player on the pitch. Barry played well too and so did Reo-Coker. I have supported Petrov to the hilt but on Saturday all he did was point and have a go at Gardner all first half and there was no effort from him. I think MON took him off at half time because he knew if he took him off during the game the response from the crowd would have been BOOOOOOOOO!!!! Luke Moore should start, best striker at the club!

Your lot treatment of Petrov, is disgusting - call yourself fans? I know he played crap, but get over it, we won. You expect world class straight away, look at Carrick and Nugent for example? We are going to sign a couple that don't come off or take longer to settle.
