'If It's Football, It's Vital'

An Evening With Magic Merse

Darren Wrack is in his testimonial season for the Saddlers.

So what I hear the Villa faithful cry?

Well, he has a special evening planned with Paul Merson as the star guest where you'll be able to enjoy a three course meal and ask Paul Merson anything you wish about his career. He has been doing this around the country but I believe this is his only Midlands appearance.

Sounds like a good night to me! The event takes part on Wednesday 19th September 2007 at 7.30pm

The venue is: Bar Sport, 85 High Green, Cannock, WS11 1BJ and costs just 35 per head or 300 for a table of 10.

You can use the contact form at Darren's testimonial site (Click Here) to ask for more information or to book tickets, or email info@darrenwrack.co.uk or call 07894 290057

Oh, and if you book, don't forget to tell them who sent you!!! Sounds like it will be a great night for all, top nosh and the company of Paul Magic Merson, who could say fairer than that!?

Vital Villa is trying to get an interview with the big man himself, I'll let you know if my begging pays dividends or lands me with a court order!

JF, what about organising a table for 10 of us and a coach and we can post you the cheques? I aint taking the ***** mate i would be well up for that.
mackaavfc
as good a player he was for us he never has a good word to say about us on sky sports when he is on there, given that i would not support anything he does.....the turn coat......... Keep the Faith....AVFC for life....
imavillan
If the man did the holte pub, were talking sell out , come e bay.
silkie villain
imavillan - guess you were one of the (fans) who used to boo Dwight Yorke aswell? Merse always praises us on Sky in my opinion, total f`in Legend. [Edited by FearVilla]
ASPINALL
Aspinall ~ for your info i dont boo any former or present villa players for that matter......if you think he praises us you want to clean you ears out and start to listen carefully.......merson was a good player for us but in my opinion he is hardly a legend.....he's certainley not in the same bracket ad paul mcgrath and peter withe.......keep the faith
imavillan
Merse said his favourite times were at Villa and must admit think he is always up whenever he talks about us.
The Fear
If there are ten people interested I guess something could be arranged, not sure I want to be the one chasing everyone up for the money though mackaavfc, been there before and it becomes a nightmare!
The Fear
I've seen Merse bigging up the Villa on Sky, and I've heard the favourite times quote too. He was an exciting player, and I for one am pleased to be able to look back and remember him and Dublin together.
evoflash
Why does he have to be judged as not in the same bracket as Paul Mcgrath and Peter Withe imavillan? Surely its all a matter of opinion. One things for certain, Merse is one of the better players in the modern era to pull on that famous claret and blue shirt. A true Villan.
glensider
I for one thought his time at Villa was a special time for the supporters, everytime he got the ball you watched with anticpation waiting to see what he was going to do, how many other players over the years have held the same aura with the supporters.
col8
When he was operating in midfield it was like watching a master class in how to pass a ball, he was a gifted player in my opinion.
Donzarra
He must think alot of Villa if he said Petrov was going to be a player to watch this season instead of only talking about players from the big 4 like the other pundits have done
Christo
Yes Christo, I think that Merse is the perfect example of 'Once a Villan....'. He always speaks/writes favourably about the club.
