Dead Heat Between King Bling and MON
Vital Villa asked which manager you thought would have been best for this transfer window now we have money to spend?
The results ended up a dead heat with 38% to Martin O'Neill and 38% to the king of the bling Big (not going to call him fat) Ron Atkinson.
Must say, with the lack of activity this transfer window, I'm a bit surprised at the backing for Martin O'Neill but good to see so many still have faith!
That left 10% for the now QPR boss John Gregory, who I think would have had a field day!
Only 9% for Brian Little, who I must admit I voted for.
4% for David O'Leary. Have to be honest, he might have been awful pr wise with us and never did anything to endear himself to the fans, but with money he'd have brought in some decent players I think.
That left just 1% backing Graham Taylor.

What do Villa fans thing of Sven now at City. He has spent £40 million but they are going to finish top 8 I would say.

Not sure I think a great deal! Must admit I think he is a top club manager and must be up for the job because he has a lot to prove in England following the 'top' job. More worried about the mighty Villa though, although Man City are now back and around the area we want to be so another threat.

Sven has spent an average of 4.5 million on each player over 4 weeks. You have to ask yourself what have our scouts been doing for the last 12 months. I realise that City's salary bill must be horrendous but still! Big question marks over the stability of the club and its owner remain. Could quite easily turn into a nightmare for City.

The scouts have been doing a good job but it seems they have been looking at the under 18's more.

I think Sven is doing the Business at City. I think he is a excellant manager. Even if we had purchased even half of what he has we would be in a much better postion squad wise. I can't believe our lack of activity whatever the reason it needs to be sorted. On a different note reading comments about Sven I find it funny people take so much issue with his time as England Manager. How is it that every manager that England gets suddenly turns crap. Hmmm maybe it isn't the Managers over the years that are crap. I am an Aussie so yes I couldn't resist a little dig. UTV

I loved sven as england manager too. One of the best in the world.

Just too bad the press gave him a hard time but he did give us great moments like us beating Germany 5-1 now what did McClaren do against them?

Come the close of the summer transfer window we will obviously all have a better idea as to MON's ability to play the transfer market with a reasonable amount of cash at his disposal. I applaud him for not throwing silly money around at less than average players, but there is a happy medium that has to be applied here, and it is obvious to all, players, supporters, and presumably MON himself, that as things stand right now, we are some way short of where we need to be. As for Sven? Personally I couldn't give a monkeys.
