More Pressure On Sorensen?

More unhappy times for Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen after apparently being told by his international manager Morten Olsen that he won't keep his place in the Denmark starting line-up if he loses his place in the Villa goal.

Sorensen recently criticised Martin O'Neill for bringing in Scott Carson and now seems to be under pressure from all angles as he looks to recover from a hamstring injury and return to action.

International action this week in the many pointless friendlies organised just as the Prem season was getting underway and are well represented:

Gareth Barry and Scott Carson are in the England squad v Germany.

Stephen O'Halloran is in the U21 Republic of Ireland squad v Germany.
Gabby Agbonlahor, Luke Moore and Craig Gardner are in the England U21 squad v Romania.

John Carew, Norway v Argentina.
Stiliyan Petrov, Bulgaria v Wales.
Olof Mellberg, Sweden v USA.
Wilfred Bouma, Holland v Switzerland.
Shaun Maloney, Scotland v South Africa.
Martin Laursen, Denmark v Republic of Ireland.

If i was MON i would have fined him 2 weeks wages for the statement in the press. I would then tell him he is no longer needed at this club as we wish to be moving forward together, and not causing rifts within the ranks by moaning. He obviously knows his time is up why not go about it like Steven Davis did - professionally.

Hope none of our lads pick up injuries while on International duty. As for Tommy Sorensen, he now faces serious competition, and is you would imagine now our number two 'keeper, with a job on his hands to replace loanee Scot Carson. Serious competition for his starting role is what Tommy has been lacking since he arrived at VP, so now its down to him to quit bleating, and to knuckle down and rise to the challenge.

Isn't this the bloke that got DOL the sack by not talking to a reporter - when perhaps he said he would? Perhaps that bad apple referred to elsewhere on this site is here and will soon be going.

critisised MOL for bringing in quality to provide competition........ knows who the better keeper is maybe?

problem is we'll sell him for lss than we paid for the carson loan so we're in a bad situation

Hopefully we never have the misfortune of seeing him in B6 ever again. An arrogant pr*ck who cant stand a bit of decent competition. Good bye Thomas you will not be missed.

One year left on his contract, SGE interested in taking him to City life is on the up for Villa in the goalkeeping department. Unfortunatally he will have to see out his contract or we will once again be up ******creek without a paddle if we suffer a keeper Injury.

Exactly Col. He should definitely remain until seasons end, no way can we as a club risk a repeat of December '06/January '07. That Kiraly howler still keeps me awake at night. Trouble is, we all knew it was going to happen, sooner rather than later, but he had to just pick the F.A. Cup game to exhibit his party piece.
