Carling Cup Round Two Draw Tonight

Carling Cup Round Two Draw Tonight

Villa will know tonight who they face in the second round of the Carling Cup as the draw will take place tonight.

The 36 remaining teams from the Football League clubs, following the first round will join twelve Premier League clubs (those not in the Uefa or Champions League).

Ties will be played the week beginning August 27.

The draw is live on Sky Sports after the Rotherham United v Sheffield Wednesday match. I would suppose Five Live will also have it.

Seeded:

Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Burnley, Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic, Coventry City, Derby County, Fulham, Leicester City, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Norwich City, Plymouth Argyle, Portsmouth, Reading, Sheffield United, Sunderland, Watford, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United, Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Barnsley/ Sheffield Wednesday.

Non-seeded:

Barnsley/Rotherham United*, Blackpool, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Carlisle United, Doncaster Rovers, Hartlepool United, Hereford United, Hull City, Leeds United, Leyton Orient, Luton Town, Milton Keynes Dons, Morecambe, Northampton Town, Nottingham Forest, Oldham Athletic, Peterborough United, Rochdale, Shrewsbury Town, Southend United, Stockport County, Swansea City and Wrexham.

If Sheffield Wednesday win they will be a seeded club, if they lose then Barnsley will be seeded.

Fancy a decent League Cup run this season, always adds the extra game or two into the seasons schedule, which in turn helps pass some cold winter nights cheering the lads on, on the road to Wem-ber-ley. If you've got nice old Mr Luck Of The Draw on your side, then anythings possible. Fall foul of him, and your hopes of a lengthy run can be all but over.

After being drawn away in all 4 cup draws last season, a home draw against anyone would be good!

Is this whole seedings system a new thing? Never heard of that in the League Cup before.

A ggod run in the League Cup will be the last thing Villa need if the current squad stays as it is today.
