Villa Season Tickets At Record High

The Villa season ticket sales, as of Saturday 11 August were at 24 624 according to Villa director General Charles Krulak who spoke of the record in our 100% Villa forum yesterday.

This figure beats our previous record of around 23 500 when Stan Collymore signed from Liverpool whilst he who walks on water, Brian Little, was our manager.

With a few star signings and I genuinely believe we'd have smashed the 30 000 mark this season but at least we are moving forward.

With a near full capacity yesterday i dont find that hard to belive ..... Rotter82 i'd take what the Gereral says as more legit than the "OWS" you allways get the over zelouse fan saying we've sold more than we have ;)
Mutt_Man
The important thing now is to ensure we not only keep that 24,624, but build upon it next season. To do that we need to speculate, and its fair to say that we haven't done that this summer.

star signing or two and we'd have smashed that I think.
The Fear
Couldn't agree more JF. I believe that there were quite a few supporters sitting on the fence, just waiting for that little extra incentive (new player-wise) to splash the cash and become s/t holders. Shame that as a club we didn't come through.

Can't see a mention of season ticket sales on the official site rotter82?
The Fear
5,000 up on last year if you discount the 1,000 kids tickets sold at 50 in the North Stand. I bet at least 4,000 of the extra 5,000 were bought expecting some top-class signings as promissed by Fitzgerald. So there could be a many very inhappy supporters in another 3 weeks.
villacross
Starved of Star Signings TBH the tickets were sold on the wave enthusiasm hung over from a great finish to last season and the promise of a revitalised Villa Squad.... If it was a used car you would loook at the cosmetic bodywork and say NON

I must confess that i haven't bought a season ticket this year. In per-season me and 5 of my mates all wanted to get them, but we held back because we wanted to see who we signed. And from the lack of transfer news it doesn't look like we're going to get them. It could be 24,629 if we bought a few class signings. But we can't complain of the lack of money!

villacross, spot on pal. I've not heard MON talk about signing "star" players only the need to build the squad but as CEO, Fitzgerald has the job of increasing income, which of course includes selling season tickets. Some might criticise for that but given the money Randy has invested so far, all true Villa fans should dip in to their pockets and invest in a ticket.

I agree with Fear. A couple of big signings and we'd have been close to 30,000 in my opinion. Same old Villa not capitalising when it counts!
DeanoVilla
Well said Stevew. i dont think we can attract so called star signings at the moment, Due to a lack of european football and our 11th spot at the end of last season. It's going to take a couple of seasons to improve our stock value and inturn improve our pull when it comes to inticing new players. its a long road contuary to what many villa fans may think, it takes more than just the dollar to attract top players. I see sneijder is signing for Real Madrid which kind of proves my point.
gappy65
I agree with Fear. 30,000 plus would have been achievable with the right signings before the season had started. It shows the apathy amongst the Villa fans when you consider Derby sold all their season tickets by the 16th June.
Hoss The Villain
Yes, we're still lagging behind other premiership outfits when it comes to supporters turning up in numbers.
